Hey i'm new to IL-2 and have recently been flying missions in the I-16 type 18.

Being a carbureatted plane when you pull negative G forces it will cut fuel flow and drop RPM. i can usally deal with this but occaisionly my plane's engine will shut down completly and i cannot get it started again no matter what i try

What Waldo is saying is that if the engine stops when you pull neg G's, don't pull them.

As for restarting the hot engine, try putting the throttle at 0 first.

Hi http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't discourage urslef mate , I-16 is a great plane , when you manoeuvre with it , you have to constantly use your fast rollrate to follow or trick your ennemies (scissors to get behind him when you're chased ) .

When you dive , always be "upside-down" before diving , while you will practice , you will be better and better at shooting whil upside down with it .

When your engine stops because of too much negative G's , just wait 2 seconds before starting again your engine , it will come back alive , however if you fly correctly it should not happen to you .

Never fly too much time straight (zig-zag to be aware of what's around you ) , don't hesitate with head-ons against faster ennemies , and fly high ! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There was a time that the engine would not restart.Since it needed a starter truck in r/l.The same for landing at an improvised field. It would only restart at official fields as they had the trucks.

One of the patches fixed the in air start.Lowering the throttle and diving to get the propeller spinning usually worked. You might have to try a couple of times.
