Regarding the P51Mk3 British version. There was no difference in manifold from 100-110% (which is WEP). a 10" increase from 99%-100% though was noted. Apparently we get the same manifold for power settings in the 100-110 range.

I couldnt hear added engine noise, or see anything more then 1" of manifold change. Is there something different with this modified P51 where the manifold doesnt change from 100-110%?

Has something to do with swaping engines but leaving the same gauge.

Same engine, just increased boost.

The P-51 came with a Manifold Air Pressure gauge which pegged at 75" Hg (+22 lbs absolute boost). The Mustang III runs at 81" Hg/+25 lbs boost which the stock gauge cannot display. Previously the P-51B/C/D in AEP/PF was limited to 67" Hg/+18 lbs boost.

Having said that, the Mustang III currently pegs at 70" Hg, not 75", on the gauge although its speed performance clearly indicates 81" Hg.

The use of 100/150 grade fuel allowed the V-1650-7's automatic boost control to be adjusted to allow +25 lbs boost vs. the +18 lbs boost allowed on 100/130 grade fuel. A new enrichment jet and balance pipe (don't ask! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif) were fitted as well.
