I don't understand why they screw the sound with EAX 1 system. It is only fixed for EAX 2 . I've got SB Live! Platinium and it uses EAX1. In Il-2 it sounded wonderful, now I have to play without hardware support.and the sound sucks. PLEASE, OLEG DO STH WITH THAT ISSUE!!!!!!!!I didn't buy my platinium (2 years ago ) in order not to use its fine performance possibilities

why,why,why..........?

yeah, my phillips acoustic edge does EAX 1 only also, so when I turn on the hardware acceleration i get about a 5 to 10fps drop

My question is, are there any sound cards that use EAX 2 or higher? I don't know of any /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif . All the sound blasters, even the new ones still use EAX 1.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

As far as I know, EAX2 is again a software based standard, so theoretically anything can support it. EAX3.0/HD is Audigy 2 only as far as I know.

The Nforce2 onboard audio, audigy, TB SC, and some other cards support EAX2 as far as I'm aware. It should be mainly a driver issue than a hardware support issue.

Googling about, I see the Phillips Accoustic Edge alledgedly supports EAX2 according to http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/acousticedge_psc706/5.html [at least the psc706 does].

Sound Blaster live should support EAX2, Audigy+ EAX3 (it can "do" several "enviroments" at the same time, whereas EAX1/2 only do one at a time)

I have A hercules sound car, and hardware still does not work like it should.. My card supports EAX1 and EAX2.. When I enable it I get huge perfomance hit, and much worse sounds.
