How would Bud have faired against this rocket? Still able to outmanuver it, outclimb it and out turn it?

For the millionth time it is not the plane it is the pilot. Bud Anderson verses a NOOB! That is the duel.

Bud Anderson once took on a dozen of 1.98Atas and shot them all down in a zoom contest. But that's nothing compared to what Bud Spencer did.

It is hard to have any combat when the 1.98 K-4 was sitting on the ground due to lack of fuel and riddled with reliability issues. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

On a serious note the lower rated K4 was superior to the Mustang D in most combat manuvering areas and the K4 1.98 ATA would hold a clear edge.

I want to know how they got 500,000 litres of fuel from Bavaria to the rest of Germany in 1945. I was under the impression they had a few transport and logisitc problems at that point.

Classic thread

After I saw the title I was sort of thinking about a guy with a sledgehammer smashing up a plane in the fastest time....

They didn't have to, if you read the source, it says it's the fuel stocks in the airfields of LwKdo West (the former Luftflotte 3). that's just an 'active' storage readied to be used up directly by the aircraft. It ain't the full, strategic stores, which still amounted a few tenthousends of tons in March 1945, stored in the various places accross the rapidly shrinking territory. Mind you, 500 000 liter isn't that much, but fairly typical in a sense that units were generally supplied with ust enough fuel for a few days/weeks of operation, which was replenished from the main stocks from time to time. There is not much point storing fuel on airfields to become targets of the enemy, when a portion of it would be used up anyway.

the records from April 1945 for the axis-Italian ANR show a rather similiar amount of fuel being available, also being ca50-50% B-4/C-3.

I doubt you can run a K4 at 1.98 ATA on Budweiser - not enough alcohol.
