Very nice pics SkyChimp, but a Korean Sim would probably be forgotten just like the Korean war. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

What the heck am I saying~!? I'd never heard of an IL2 before IL2. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif ...../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Nice idea though~!

Forget the Korea. Make an pre-world war 2 and early world war 2 sim.

Just my oh so humble thoughts /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Very nice pics and I also think a Maddox Korean War Sim would be a wonderful idea - Mig Alley was one of the best pre-IL-2 games precisely because of the blend of jets (without boring air-to-air missiles) and prop planes.

you forgot skyraiders and fh1 phantoms. To many jets tho for fb i would liek to see a lomac addon of the korean war tho

Sorry, replied to the wrong one LOL.

BTW just to stay on topic, I'd love to have another Korean sim. Mig Alley was good, but had too many issues to be great.

Korean war sim would be amazing, the transition from military props to jets would cover a lot of different technology.

Computers have come a long way since Mig Ally ...

A Korean War sim is/would be the ultimate DF sim & the scope for ground kill is massive

IMO it was the era of the finest prop fighters ever & add the classic jets & you have a real step up from a WW 2 sim

Great pics, Skychimp, especially the Mariner and the Seafire 47! More please! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yes, a Korean conflict sim would be awesome, the best of both worlds, the best prop fighters (frankly imagine to fly a Seafire 47!), and the early jets (great dogfights without "missile cheating").

Cheers,

Forgot to say that the Korean landscapes are beautiful!

A Korean War sim would be fantastic. It was the last hurrah for prop fights. And the greatest ever flew there: The Hawker Sea Fury, Seafire 47, F4U-4, F4U-5, La-7 and La-9.

But it would be great for helicopters, too. Flying a sea rescue pilot-pickup mission for points, or a casualty delivery to a MASH unit for points would be great.

Ju87, you probably know it already, but there were even Turkish Birddogs in Korea:

Perhaps, your grandfather was with these guys!

Come on now guy .. It was a UN thing and many countries sent representative forces .. the issue I think was from a military hardware perspective ..not a patriotic one

The Black Widow would be cool to fly !!

"It was a UN thing"

Yep, that's why it's called a "conflict" and not a "war". Of course, on the terrain, the difference was not so noticeable for the soldiers!

Btw, on the UN side, the USA, Great Britain, Australia and Turkey had aircrafts involved there. On the land, there were some other nations like France for instance (only 3000 men for France, but half of the contingent was lost in very tough fights against the Chinese). Yes, this conflict is almost forgotten, but some of its episodes were extremely hard!

Btw, again, a very good link about a lost pilot in Korea. Look especially at the gallery to get an idea of the Korean conflict atmosphere:

Korea would be a blast.

A bit forgotten yes...there's a whole contingent of Canadian vets down there now for the 50th anniv. of the armistace.

Maybe we can get a sim before the next Korean war starts...

I think a Korean sim would be worth it just to get the Sea Fury...there's one on display at the Aviation Museum here in Ottawa.

Simply gorgeous plane. Mustang, Yak, forget it. Nothing beats this beauty.

Hey chimp, what about a sim with 50s jets; b-47, f-86d. How cool would it be to fly a nuclear strike with the b-47. The b-47 had some real flying issues; roll due to yaw, aileron reversal at certain flight regimes. And the dogsabre firing the mighty mouse ffar at a soviet bomber. Oh well, guess its a pipe dream though!!!

Nice pics. Ever hear of the westland wyvern? Odd craft

Chimp, Sweden never had any military forces in Korea during the war.

Yes, in fact 22 countries fought just from the UN side, tell me that isn't international now. Not to mention that North Korea, China, and the USSR as well were involved, so it's technically 25 countries.

Remember that "USSR" is saying a lot because they had the iron curtain over eastern Europe along with half of Germany at the time, so these nations had little say at the time, and the Western half of Germany was occupied by 3 countries...all who participated.

Maybe the Vietnam war was a lot less international, but there really was not much justification for this war. The Korean War, in contrast, was undisputably necessary.

CHDT, was it not called a police action?

mike_espo, there is a sim called Strike Fighter.
