I discovered that it is nearly impossible to takeoff with 2X2000 bombload with the JU 88. Has anyone else discovered this?

Normally the Ju 88A's max bombload was 3000 kg, and with 2 x SC2000 (serious overload) you should take less fuel (as they did in WW2).

A quick question:how do you start a flight ( with the 88 or any other a/c) from takeoff?Do you first have to land& then take offor just start from 0 meters? Does this preclude an encounter with enemy a/c?

Using the FMB just place your waypoint on an airfield. Then under waypoint set it to Takeoff and your all set.

S!

jamesdietz, use the multiplay option (even offline you can do that), creating a server for dogfight...

Got no problem taking off with 2000 bomb load and 100% fuel. Just trim it up, warm engines while on brakes and... FLY

The baby is doing it so smooth...
Salute , mate
:-)
keep tryin

you need excessive uptrim during takeoff .. you can take off with a short runway with 2 x 2000kg.

Two requirements:

1. If a single/campaign mission or a coop, the first waypoint must be set to takeoff (see SGT_watson's reply about FMB).

2. Before you start the mission, make sure the "Takeoffs & Landings" difficulty setting is turned on.

How do you set the takeoff spawn point to aparking area like on HL servers.

The JU88 needs a long take off with 2 X 2000KG bombload, but it does make it.With that amount of overload,it must have been pretty terrifying in real life!

I found leave the flaps up get it rolling then when spped builds up shove the nose down to get her *** in the air, she will accelerate rapidly then when at about 220 drop a stage of flap, heave her off and get the danglie bits up and away you go http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In dogfight mode servers you don't set any waypoints. You place homebases on existing airfields or place Test Runways and place homebase objects on them. Some of the test runways allow only airstart regardless of settings, so check by launching the mission as a DF multiplay mission, not from FMB.

The DF mode spawn points are an attribute of the airfields which is set by the game designers / map designers at 1C:Maddox. The only control mission builders have is the circle associated with the homebase object. Only spawn points within the circle should be available, so making it smaller should reduce the number of available spawn points. Be careful using this though, as landing aircraft have to come to a full stop within the (invisible) circle to get full points and a "xxx landed safely at home base" message. If you make the circle small enough to limit available spawn points, you'll also limit which parts of the airfield count as a "safe landing".

Dr...Watson: I should add that only Dogfight mode is spawn on parking areas supported. While there is occasionally a Coop mode or single/campaign mission where you will spawn on the parking area, this requires special fudging by the mission designers and the workarounds that actually work for this vary from version to version. For the current working methods I'd suggest you ask or search in the Mission Builder Forum (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=corfrm&cf=50910533)

well, the game doesnt have the max weight as a border to load bombs and fuel.............

you can check some real loadplans here
http://www.ju88.equitatura.de/rustsatze.htm

as you see, you can get max bombs or max range (fuel) , but not both together http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

unfortunatly the flaps are automaticly pulled up at 220km/h IAS http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
it may so be in real, but i find it to early (to slow) for the ingame FM. that makes landing also a little bit harder http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

i have since found if you keep accelerating it will get up to 240 and fly off no flaps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you put a Ju-88 on a treadmill and it moved the opposite direction of the AC on takeoff, would it still take up so much runway?
