Ok, I'm running 3.02b and somewhere I thought I read that one of the patches fixed this problem with AI flying formations into the Owen Stanly range on New Guinea? But it's still hapening to me.

In addition, AI planes just fly into sea-level ground just for the hell of it... about 1-3 planes per mission.

Sigh.

Are there some templates for missions or something in DGen that I can edit to fix these problems myself?

I could use some pointers.

Thanks.

I have the same problem with that campaign. All my fellow piltos crash into the range and I have to attack the targets myself.

I suppose you could re start the campaign at a higher rank, then you could control the AI flight by using Tab and then getting them to follow you.

Duh. Heh. That's a good easy solution. Thanks.

But the escort squadrons like to crater the hills too.

I'm wondering though, is the DGen patch not included in the 3.02b patch? Do I need to reinstall the latest DGen after I've installed 3.02b?

I'm hoping the answer is "yes" and that the latest DGen has fixed this group-lawn-darting... maybe?

Please?

The latest DGen beta does fix those issues (amongst others) IIRC.

As has already been posted start as a higher rank and then tell you squadron to form up close behind you. Works fine. I didn't experience the problem of the escort fighters crashing, they seemed to clear the range just fine once we had... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I was having the same problem with the RAAF Beaufighter campaign. I had only done 1 mission before I dl'ed the patch, so I started the campaing over again (at the same rank, flt Sgt) and the problem disappeared.

I take full advantage of -drilling mountain AI-.

When outnumbered and in hopeless situation, I just run to the nearest hill in my Hayabusa (then circling like mad on treetop) and watch AI Cobra pilots in process of playing 'chicken' with mountain.
