Is there any indication form the devs on updates to the IL 2 graphics engine? I know that the new water effects are a big deal; my question is regarding performance, specifically on the Nvidia 6 series cards with these water effects enabled. Currently in FB, on my 6800gt, with the "Perfect" setting on the framerate is too slow. Is the FP engine going to be optimized to allow for the advanced water effects to be on?

On perfect?! with 9800.. Hehee.. you must be using no AA/AF and quality set to LOW or something.

Fully smooth must be like >40+fps at all times

Perfect mode, water on 1 , all FB option sets to max settings, AA 2x, Anisotropic 4x, 1024x768.

The less FPS I get is 35 fps on very low flying in multiplayer game.. Average is often over 55.

Of course, over the bigger cities, I might get 30fps..

You want screens to prove..?

my spec

P4 2.4ghz@2.7
1Gb ram
Ati 9800 Pro 128 (catalyst 4.8 all set to high quality)
Win Xp pro

Actually that's kinda why I ask. I've seen benchmarks where ATI cards outperform Nvidia in FB by a large margin. What I want to know if Nvidia support for PF is gonna be updated any to be as good as for ATI.

i certainly hope there is more variations for the water.. my fx5600 cant cut the perfect mode and i reckon lots of water on excellent gets pretty boring rather quick
