I feel your pain-- http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif ...it doesn't seem right.

(but ya' gotta love that evil mission designer mentality http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif )

And it would appear that you failed your mission objectives (i.e., destroy the V1 launchers?).

Yes, like vulching it's absolutely fair. Like vulching, it is easily avoided by the application of good situational awareness, or prevented by force of arms.

You pays your money and takes your choice. Personally I'd bomb the launchers as my first priority.

Kudos to the mission builder!

rnzoli, I got skunked by a V1 while landing once, too. That sneaky mission builder hid the launchers and set them up so they bombarded the enemy's airfields with V1s. Kind of hard to see them coming with no externals, but man, talk about a head on a swivel trying to land the rest of my time on that server. lol

My only "point-whoring" story has to do with a battleship that someone placed on a dogfight map one time. I fought my way through fighters and flak with my Spitfire IXe CW loaded with 1,000lbs of bombs, made 4 or five successful runs and skip-bombed the ship until it sank.

Generally, a ship like that is worth 700 points, but much to my chagrin, and I probably should have known better when it wasn't firing at me (even though you can make ship AAA "go to sleep"), that it was placed as a stationary object and was worth a miniscule amount of points.

I was like, "WTH, all that work for that?!?!?" I found the host's base and for the next three or four sorties, I'd load up a 500lb centerline, sneak up on him and shoot him down, then go and bomb him as he respawned. Just because. lol

BTW - Vulching was allowed.

V1s CAN be seen

use "view GROUND object"

even while V1s in flight, the "view ground object" will work to spot V1s

That still works with NO externals or padlock ON?!?! I know External Padlock Ground works to padlock V1s and chutes in the air, too. I just didn't know that was available on a full switch server. Guess I better retest tonight.

Well, that's a good reason to shoot them down despite the lack of points, no?

Just remember, shâ¡t happens...
