Could you please give some details about your problem. This may help to verify it and propose an adequate solution.

In case you haven't noticed in game there are some tracks with explanation of how to take off and land from a carrier.
Uuh, did you already assign a key for "Toggle Chocks"? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Carrier landing can be tricky. After years of playing I'm still sometimes getting wet palms from that. Just like today, when my SBD ran out of fuel, with a big hole in the wing and the carrier sooo far away...slammed it down in a stall, right on the trailing edge of the deck, bounced up again and the hook only caught the last wire or so. Think my pilot is still in sick bay...if not for concussion then for nervous breakdowns.

Practice! That's the key.

Check out the :Straight From the Farm" campaign in the link below. I made this campaign specifically to teach people how to perform carrier takeoffs and landings. This is EXACTLY what you are looking for.

The missions are short, generally 2-3 minutes each, although some are longer. They start at a very basic level and add one or two concepts each mission. The campaign has ovr 6,000 downloads, so it has proven to be very popular. The editors at Mission4Today even made it an editor's choice selection.

Download it and let me know if it helps.

real pilot's take off with the canopy open to get more heigth to see better though the aicrafts's nose. this is not difference in IL2.

first it is necessary to open the canopy. it's a dual control for obviosly reasons. me for example, this control is set by press the key shift and arrow up. after that you need a key for take some distance from the instruments panel. the standard key for toggle view is shift + F-1. after that you need to set a key for the following one: "raise seat position". just a single key. after do that you gonna raise from the seat and gonna have a improved visibility. but remember that this feature is only intended for carrier born figther aircraft. after you take off just press the key for resume your previos position on the seat. it is a excellent and very useful feature for take off and landing. but this is modeled only for carrier born figthers ( the SBD and the D3A don't have it). other planes don't have it, altough the vision of the toggle view for the ME-262 is perfect in my opinion.

ok, I know everybody know this, but post it anyway. sorry.

You just have to practice. I still have a ton of trouble with carrier landings. You have to come down verrry slowly (without stalling) with your nose up and tail down so the arrestor hook catches on the cable.

For mods, google "All Aircraft Arcade." It's a separate site. We can't link to mods here or give advice about installing them, though I think we can talk about what they do.

For skins, there are a lot on different sites like Mission4Today, depends on what you are looking for. If you are having trouble finding something like a historic skin, ask on this board or the PaintSchemes board and people will maybe give you links if they know of one.

Peoples seem to have more airplanes then i can find from the list. I know there is technique to fly unflyable games, I have all the IL2 Expansions and stuff but i still can't seem to find some of the airplanes there are in pictures... Only few of them though.

Is there some kind of a patches or something?

For flying in Frankenplanes, new planes, other maps, textures, whatever features let your search machine be your friend and search for AllAircraftArcade.

But in my opinion it is better to practise the basics like learn to fly, land, dogfight, strafe, CEM etc and to take a look at Zeus-cat's link before you go any further. Otherwise it will be too much of everything in one time.

Two versions of landing on decks..

OnLine Dogfights the carriers are not moving so..
You aim for the rear end of the carrier about 30 knots above stall, and level out and cut throttle just as the rear of the deck passes under your nose.

With Online Co-Ops and Offline where the carrier is moving at about 30 knots, you must aim for the centre of the carrier deck and then do the same as above... this should 'plonk' you on the 3rd arrestor line.
