If they aren't arriving any earlier then the 16 here in the U.S. what's the draw to pre-ordering?

Are they arriving earlier? If they are I'll just cancel my EB presale and order it next day air from UBI.

I'm keeping my order with EB games. Like I said in another thread, I've done nothing with pre-ordering but pre-order from EB for the last two years. Numerous games I've ordered from them have shipped a day earlier. I'm expecting my copy Wednesday, at 11am (where I live is near the beginning of the routes), but I'd hardly be surprised if it's sitting at my door Tuesday, the 15th. *shrug*

Some of my favs: TS2, BF:V, R:TW.. all games arrived a day earlier than expected.

I cancelled my pre-order at EB and went with Ubi...here's hoping I get it either earlier or the same time I would with EB!!

I'm tempted to go with UBI, but I just don't seem to have good luck with them.

No matter what shipping method I choose, the product seems to planned for delivery sometime after my EB has it, despite how early I pre-order.

Heck, I'd buy from UBI right now if I had a garuntee I would get it Tuesday instead of Wednesday....I'm becoming that impatient. lol

So long as I get my copy before you lot, I don't care about delivery times. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

It's a tough call.

I have never had any issues ever with EB, except one time where UPS forgot our package with some titles in it. They promptly returned to their loading docks and retrieved the package and all was well a little later that same day.

I must admit, it would be suprising if people started receiving their copies before it was actually "released" in retail outlets the likes of EB and Gamestop. Retailers, like the ones I just mentioned, usually get first "dibs" at sales when it comes to new game titles. Our EB, for instance, received more copies of Gran Tourismo 4 then Best Buy and CompUSA combined. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I do believe that some stores like EB and Gamestop get "preferred" treatment. EB si the largest video game retailer in the world and certain special privliges are usually afforded to them. There have even been times where we have been granted authority to break "street date" if said "street date" has been compromised by another retailer. If the game started showing up in people's hands before EB was able to sell their product (due to the "street date"), then I am not sure what would happen. When I worked at EB, my manager would call the District manager asap and request to open sales of a product if it started appearing before we could sell it officially. Sometimes we could, other times we couldn't, it was determined on a case by case basis. In addition, EB policy is too order at least as many copies as were pre-sold to the public, e.g., if 350 people pre-bought SHIII from us then we would get at least 350 copies in stock to cover our pre-sales. Those who pre-purchase the game take major priority over those who do not. If only 1 person orders a game, and that's it, that person WILL get a copy the day is EB is allowed to sell it. It wouldn't matter if there were 200 people in the store demanding it, the person who pre-payed gets the right to purchase first.
