I was just wondering if there was more to backstabbing in MP than SP. In SP i just sneak up and power attack in my targets back.
In MP i cant really get that to work it seems like. Is there more required than cloak + power attack? Am i doing something wrong?

You need to be very close, with the target facing away. During the beta it didn't trigger all the time. Not sure if that has changed since. The move is easier to perform in singleplayer in any case.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

MP backstab also requires a certain amount of stamina. If your stamina bar is in the red zone, it won't work. It's also still a bit unreliable, as it will trigger when you're chasing another running and/or strafing character and frequently miss. You don't need to be cloaked to use it in MP, by the way. Just need to be DIRECTLY behind your target (there's not much leeway given for positioning).

As someone who once ran behind the enemy team at the start of a game and backstabbed everyone of them to death, I can say that backstabbing is working just fine...

As mentioned, backstabbing in MP requires range, stamina, and actually hitting someone's back. You charge an attack, literally run *into* someone's back while the weapon is still charged, and it should connect automatically.

If for some unfortunate reason your target decides to turn 5 degree to the left or right, you are probably screwed out of a backstab. The sure-fire litmus test is to try and backstab a stationary afk target... if that is not working out for you, then there's something wrong with your client.

Sometimes you can backstab "trough" the target and kill the target behind them also. Only works if the targets stand very close together.

Its true, that you'll miss often if the target turns, and you haven't the back of the target right in front of you when the backstab goes off.

3DO went bankrupt a few years ago and most regrettably took New World Computing with them. <b style="color:black;background-color:#a0ffff">Ubi[/b] bought the rights to the series afterwards. DM isn???t the same sort of game as the MM games, we still have to wait for MMX. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anything else?

To make backstab work properly, when youve got the backstab stance ready dont release your mouse, hold it down.

Ive discovered this and it has gained me a lot more kills.

There has not been any announcement about MM10.

You can find the Might and Magic IX patch on FilePlanet (http://www.fileplanet.com/86908/80000/fileinfo/Might-&-Magic-IX-v1.2-patch), among others. The MM8 patches should be there too.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
