We've had a few suggestions to people in the various "What should I buy for my new PC" threads about power supplies, and I ran across this GREAT article that goes into a bit of detail about how to choose one.

http://www.anandtech.com/casecoolingpsus/showdoc.aspx?i=3413&p=1

It lists the power consumption of many of the more common components at this time, talks about efficiency calculations and the 12V rail. If you plan on building a PC, I suggest you save this link someplace and refer to it later.
