S` all

I read in the readme that the bomb craters were supposed to last anywhere from 1 1/2 min. to 10min. depending on bomb size. I've seen time and time again, bomb craters no matter the size lasting only 10 seconds tops. This is a great feature if you guys can get it to work right would add a different aspect to the game.

would be nice to have a new block in *.mis files something like that:

[BombCraters]
BigCratersDuration=300
MidCratersDuration=100
SmallCratersDuration=60

i have noticed that also, it really takes the fun and tactical aspect of cratering the enemy runway out of the mission. should last a lot longer than 10-15 secs.

the 5k is the 10 min crater.

mk 108's are about 60 secs

would be a nice feature to have crater time in the config file

Yes - They should last longer, and
Yes - It would be nice to have a setting for it.

That said - There are already settings for some objects...

... since patch 1.21 for the DEDICATED server...

No one EVER said they were for "Normal" game dogfight online... although it's great they work http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - in case you are wondering. From the 1.21 dedicated readme :
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
2. Static objects respawn times for the dogfight missions are set up in the section [RespawnTime] of the mission file.

Allowed object categories are:
Bigship - bigger ships,
Ship - lesser ships,
Aeroanchored - air balloons,
Artillery - artillery guns,
Searchlight - searchlights.
The time is measured in seconds. Minimal allowed delay is 20 second, maximal is 1000000, 1800 second is the default value.
Ex.:

[RespawnTime]
Bigship 1800
Ship 1800
Aeroanchored 1800
Artillery 1800
Searchlight 1800
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Sadly the new Carriers don't react to the settings - I think we'll get them when the new dedicated comes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I would love for this to be fixed. Increase the time and make it configurable.

Some servers have time of day sped up, very few have 1:1 real 24 hour days, IIRC.
How does that affect respawn?

It is only setting the length of day shorter. I have not hosted since losing DSL so I
don't remember. But I have been on servers with short days and nights. You can also
have long days, not sure if it can be always middle of day. Think of how it would be
if a server always ran 1:1 time and stayed up running for days on end? Then night
would be just as long as real, no?

So I ask if that may affect how long craters last as a question, not an answer.

To my knowledege ther eis no way to spped up time on a server.You can however fix the time to stay set at cetain time.

The servers do run in real time.If you watch your clock in the cockpit you will see it works.

When the dedicated servers first came out and they were running 24/7 half the time they were at night(and not too many people in them).It was not until a fixed time of day command was created that a 24/7 did not go into night.
