This makes for interesting reading - if you have about a week spare. It's very detailed!
Submarine Torpedo Fire Control Manual, is a training and reference manual from 1952. It describes how to plan a submarine's approach and attack using the fire control systems on Fleet and Guppy submarines with straight running torpedos (without homing, wire guidance, etc.). It represents the submarine fire control problem of WW II and the immediate post war period.

Note: The right one inch on page 10-5 was cut off in the original this was scanned from. So there where words missing on 10-5 that I have guessed at to make the text legible and may be wrong. We are seeking a better copy of the manual to correct these errors.

Been there, posted that...

1950 US Navy Torpedo Fire Control Manual (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/857101043/m/8471048164?r=8471048164#8471048164)

Yeah it's a good read, good enough that there's also a link to it in the SH3 Community Manual (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Links_%26_Resources).

But yes it is worthwhile and now perhaps a little more timely and worth another mention, so good that you should mention it again.
