when stopped it measures 0.9 G when it should read 1G

I'd not noticed that. Does it do this with all aircraft, or just with tail-draggers? it is possible it is measuring G relative to the aircraft's fore-aft axis, in which case it will be slightly less than 1 G when on the ground. There may be a rounding error too.

Edit - It looks like it may be a bit of both. A (trike) P-39 reads 0.9 G on the ground, but if you start the engine, it flickers Up to 1.0 G briefly. A (taildragger) P-40 Measures 0.8 G engine off, and 0.9 G engine on. The tailsitter He Lurche reads 0.0 G on the ground.

You can get a more accurate G reading Via DeviceLink, but I can't test this at the moment.

Maybe it's a true representation of RL, as they must have had inaccurate analogue sensors at that time.
