(as in completely identical flight characteristics)

Could you still fly and enjoy, or would it make you stop altogether?

(or a bit of both http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif)

What would be the point? Just have one plane, then.

I suppose it would put a greater emphasis on tactics and strategy online...but it would be totally unrealistic.

We'd have to find something else to argue over and blame stuff on http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Crimson Skies was great fun! ( for what it was http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

I dont think arcade dogfighting has been done as well since that game.

I'd play CFS3 or targetware

It is the strategy and combat tactics employed..exploiting strengths and weaknesses is why lots of us fly!

Most real debate that occurs on this forum is in regard to how real or published tactics and performance translate into gameplay....there are a group of people from both sides that enjoy derailing any and all such discussions....if all planes were the same, there would be no discussions.

The only real tragedy of this game is that due to its closed architecture, there is no person on this forum that can impact the playability and enjoyability of their game beyond the menu screen....so as a result, there are factions running around here trying to influence the modeller while discrediting other people, derailing debate and discussions and otherwise making much of the learning opportunities an exercise in futility. In another game, where there was crummy online play but open architecture, the forums in no way resembled this one...if you didn't like the turn radius, elevator authority, bomb load out, strength of muntions etc...you just changed it!

Unfortunately, in this game we won't have both...maybe BoB.

If it was like so I am sure I would never have heard about Maddox Games or their sim line. So My answer is "I wouldn't fly"

All wrong answers, if all flyable planes here were equal we'd still have threads about plane X being under/overmodelled, the lack of certain important planes and the wasted space for fantasy ones. Pffewww!

wouldn't have bought it in the first place if everything behaved the same.

when i read about plane "X" having "Y" characteristics or "Z" tendencies and then see them modeled in the game i get psyched about the whole thing.

Part of the fun of the variety of planes is learning the pros and cons of each plane.

How can you make a P.11c defeat a Bf-109E? How can you defeat a well flown P-40E with a Bf-109F-2? To me an Il-2 is ideal to shoot down slow bombers... the variety of gameplay is what is appealing, plus the fact that the ordinance affects performance.
