at 0:38 in this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCTtIIW1WA0&feature=feedu) trailer, it looks like a pouch or a book. What do you guys think ?.

Looks like a satchel on his belt rather than him holding it.

He's holding a book. Perhaps it's the Codex? Or was this destroyed in the villa attack?

Agreed, looks a lot like a book to me. I don't think it's the Codex though, however I don't have a better alternative.

It looks like a book. There's a pouch on his back you can see at 1:44 and it's a bit different (for one it's smaller).

It is definitely not attached to the belt, and it seems to feature a small Assassin emblem. I'd say that the pages of the codex were collected before the attack on the villa and were likely kept safe somewhere. At least, that's my theory...

I remember Ezio telling Leonardo he had lost most of the Codex inventions; not the Codex itself. Still, what happened to the Codex is something I hope we get closure on in AC:R.

It's definately a book, though it's not the Codex. Most likely, it's another book from the library at Masyaf, perhaps something Altair left behind with clues regarding the seals.

You're right, it's a book.
Not sure what I was thinking.

If Ezio had a book from the library in Masyaf, he's probably just returning it.

Mystery solved. But I'll bet the receptionist is gonna have him hanged for returning it three hundred years overdue.

Perhaps. He's had some time with the Apple as well after all... Though his time with it was very limited compared to the amount of time Alta´r had it in his possession.

Perhaps its just a book dealing with information that Altair left behind. Or its a really long boat ride, and Ezio needed a good story to past the time.

either it's the codex, either found or rewritten with Leonardo's help(Leo did remake all the items without the need for the codex) or it is one of or all the clues he had to collect before heading to Masyaf

I found the whole receptionist thing funny myself. I guess Ezio's gonna have to answer for Marco Polo's negligence... I wonder how many copies of the Codex we have running around now.

Back on topic, somewhat: I also hope we find out what actually happened to the Codex. I have a feeling the Templars have most, if not all, of the pages. Either that, or they burned along with the paintings.

Well he is a Master Assassin, maybe it his own Codex/Journal/Ideas?

Konzti
06-15-2011, 01:43 PM
Might just be one of the seals, right? And is it me, or can the Assassin insignia be seen on this strange object? Whatever it is, it was a good find!

Greetings, Konzti

Maybe it has something to do with why he started this outing in the first place.

Probably the codex.I honestly wouldn't be supprised if it was.LAter on I belive the templars get a few of the pages but for the most part I think it stays in assassin hands.BTW wouldn't do much good as by the point they get them I guess they wouldn't need to much of the inventions.

I guess the gun? But making a modern one for ****s and giggles meh?Actually desmond having a modern hidden gun for AC3 might be pretty cool!

That's funny, it doesn't look like that in Bloodlines when Altair is writing it?
And Have you forgotten that the Codex's pages were ripped out and scattered?

It obviously is a book and I am guessing it once belonged to Altair and this may be the cause of Ezios new journey although i might be wrong.

The book is Niccolo polo`s journal, it details the life of Altair from the year 1176 *SPOLIERS till his death in 1257, Niccolo wrote it during his stay at Masyaf on august 1257 just before the mongol attack.

I'm guessing it's going to be something Altair related, if not the codex. Definately a book.

It's not a major spoiler at all. The press release told use that Polo would be the one telling the story, all this tells us is that Ezio's reading it. NBD.

Obviously the codex pages. In ACR he goes on a quest to find something left by altair in his library or sth like that. He can't do that without some clue from Altair. Plus it has the assassin's logo on the top right

Looks like Altair's Codex. And if it is, we need to have a very brief trip to Monteriggioni at the very start of AC:R before Ezio sets off for Masayf. Even if it's just a cutscene. He can collect the pages, draw up the 72 key in the sanctuary for Juno's vault, and hopefully recover Altair's Armor for later usage.

It's very possible, in fact when Desmond and Lucy first got into the sanctuary he said that he saw Ezio and that he looked hold: "he must have came back here after the Villa attack"
