My biggest fear was that my computer would not be able to handle PF. So, I was quite suprised and happy to find that it runs quite well. Havn't gone online yet but I just did a Quick Mission againts three acft and it was stutter free. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'll never see water like the pictures but all considered, I'm happy with what I got.

Bug another 512ram and it will run smoother still, i have nearly the same setup http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My setup's pretty close to that, too. It's good to see that things are alright with the GeForce FX 5200, which is what I have, and was a little concerned about. I have that extra 512 of RAM, and am going to buy a bit more probably in a week or so.

After that, all's I need is for my order to arrive http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

EXCELLENT! Glad that you are enjoying it. This hubub over the top graphics settings and not getting the best frame rates is insanity...you're being smart about running it according to the system that you have.

Sounds like it works just fine!

You want a low-end PC contest? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I run PF and AEP+PF on two ancient computers. Here are the specs:

Computer #1

Intel P4 1.8Mhz with 256MB DDR
64MB GeForce4-MX440, 40MB HDD
Generic Sound Card

Computer #2

Intel P3 733Mhz with 256MB SDRAM
32MB GeForce2-GTS, 20MB HDD
Generic Sound Card

Most of my graphics settings are on medium, but mostly low on the 2nd PC.

You have seen my videos and screenshots in my Carrier Landing tutorial threads. I'm not really complaining, except on dynamic campaigns involving huge number of a/c's. I think the programmers did very well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks for providing the info, guys. It's nice to know that PF is proving to be system-friendly. makes me even more anxious for the shipping to get out to Calif. What are the frame-rates that everyone's getting?

Havn't checked yet but I imagine somewheres around 25-30 fps, same as I was getting previously.

rodion_zero, do you notice any performance issues between PF vs AEP+PF?

Yes...loading time at startup and during missions seems to be longer compared to standalone-PF (but I have yet to use a stopwatch hehe), but that's because my hard disk is slow and on the 2nd rig, the lousy SDRAM is really forcing me t-to ac-cc-ept t-the fact that stu-stuttering is c-c-cool in AEP+PF. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hi,
My PC is only AMD1600+ with 512 RAM 64MB video but can fly some missions. However first have to disactivate radio chatter, especialy Japanese one was killing my fps.
Anyway I'd rather wait a month or so and get a new PC than add some RAM to my system.

Yes,the RAM is perhaps the priority in PF because of huge maps and AAA fire.

A decent vid card and CPU are enough. You should expect 15% FPS drop while flying online.

Btw will I gain something by changing 512MBSDRAM133MHz to 512MBDDRRAM333MHZ?Or maybe better wait to get some more cash and buy a whole gig?

yeah my system is about the same as yours, and other in here but I have a 5500 FX OC 256 card. Offline just below perfect is really good. I wish I could do perfect but just dont have it, maybe a gig of ram will help.

But online I am not duing as well. AA is really tough on my system

Offline and online in Excellent mode I get 20fps in fwd view, 30 fps looking left or right or outside cockpit. I switched setting to low and I start out at 30fps on the ground but reduces to 20 once airborne. Wierd.

Noticed quite a bit of frame pause in online DF.

That's undeniably one of the coolest aspects of PF. It's incredibly well-tuned.

I had no stutter/video lag when I was encountering 16 TB3's in FMB. I run at 1600x1200 with 2xFSAA and I generally get 50-70fps.

I have two comps, the first one's a beast ( 1.5 gig ddr3200, xp3.2+, radeon9800pro ) and the second one is my old system ( thunderbird 1.4, 1 gig sd133, gf4mx440 ).
The first one runs PF/AEP at 30-100 fps, 1024 res and 4xaa, perfect mode, water=2.
The second one runs PF/AEP at more or less the same framerates, but in 1024 no aa, excellent mode.
Hell, when Il2 first came out, I ran it on a duron750, gf2mx and 512 sdram, pc133 in 1024 excellent mode.
This series has always been very efficient when it comes to hardware resources.

I'm running PF on a P4 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM, and a Radeon X300 128MB video card. Holding back the perfect water but maxing all else out, the game runs smooth as silk (even with the 3D gunners on). My Samar mission uses 10 ships and a dozen aircraft, and no hits whatsoever.

Once perfect water is activated, performance drops off noticably. I leave it off except when I want to share screens.

900mhz AMD Athlon, 768mbSDR, Nvidia 5500 oc FX 256mb vid card. Game configured itself at perfect. Gamr runs great.
