Hello,
Was going to try out one of these voice recognition programs and was wondering if anyone had any comments if they had any impact on frames per second?

Thanks,
Todd

I've used VAC in quite a few games and I don't see any impact on fps. I'd recommend it.

Both VAC and Shoot will give exactly the same FPS hit (i.e. negligible), as they both use the same recognition engine - the Microsoft Voice Recognition software.

However, don't touch Shoot 1.6 with a 10-foot pole. It's abandoned software, and the version that was last released had an annoying 'lag' bug where it would always execute one command behind (i.e. you say 'gear', nothing happens. Then you say 'one echelon formation' and your gear operates.)

Shift_E put a lot of time improving VAC, and it's a very neat piece of software that'll save you a lot of fuss http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
