Looks interesting.

Following encounters with the Ki-84-Ia, the Allied Technical Air Intelligence Unit (ATAIU), commanded by Colonel Frank McCoy, assigned the code name FRANK to this fighter. This code name had previously been assigned to a fictitious aircraft known as the "Mitsubishi T.K.4", which was erroneously believed to be under development in Japan. When the T.K.4 failed to materialize, Colonel McCoy decided to name the new Ki-84-Ia after himself.

Indeed a great aircraft! It looks really good too! I will enjoy flying it against the Mustang! Its wing very much resembles the wing that was planned for the Fw 190D series.

Are they going to model the late war flaws that hurt it too?

I think those that like to dogfight will absolutely love the Ki-84. I think it may very well be the answer to the La-7 and Yak-3 in dogfights.

The 109K-4 and Fw-190 already overpower the Yak-3 fairly easily in dogfights.

I'd more wonder if the Ki-84 will finally be the aircraft to keep the K-4 and A-9/D-9's in check.

Considerig it has equal, or greater power ot weight ratio, and wing area to weight ratio to both, it may well be, though its relatively poor roll rate, and somewhat tricky flight characteristics should keep it in check against other aircraft.

Maybe, the Ki-84 is a great turnfighter and with the 20mm´s a good opponent to any VVS and LW plane.
Danger is now we will have Western Europe theater fought with Zeke´s and Frank´s against P-51´s. I really hope not!
That will be Warbirds and Aces High all over again.
That´s what have been so great with IL2/FB, the originality and urge to stay loyal to history ( OK I admit that 262 against I-153 isn´t very accurate to history, but still ..... it has been something new)
I wonder what Bob will bring us. Hopefully no P-51´s and 262 again! but ofcourse, it´s no my money spent on the development /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Commercialism sells, I know, but so does loyalty and originality I think.

Late WAR Japan vs Soviet would be nice to see onwhine. Of course the two major differences between Ki~84 and Yak~9 that you will see most in the onwhine dogfights are Manufacture and front line Maintenence.

You think wrong. Be Sure. P~82 Twin Mustang will sweep the fascist invaders from the BoB London sky along with any Spitfires getting in the way. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
