So I have started a new german campaign, first We hade the bf109, (F2 and F4) and then FW190 A4.

Then I get the FW190 A5 and suddenly my fighter campign have turned into a JABO campaign. What is the deal with this?

Have I done something wrong?

How could my fighter campaign turn into a Jabo campaign?

you can add a file classes or so to tell that the FW is a fighter, then you get only fighter missions again. Look into readme-file

hmmmm, which readmefile is that?

I've looked in the ordinary readmefiles but have found no info about the thing you are talking about?

That guy is right, you can make a classes.dat file and change it. I did it for the I-153, to make it a dedicate fighter, until I found out that it is so slow it can't even keep up with most bombers on escort duty!! I changed it back to to it's default ground attack again!!! Imagine being left behind by bombers, lol!!

This sounds really interesting, where can documentation to this be found?

Well, here's the excerpt from the the Readme ( version 1.1b ).rtf file. It should be in your Forgotten battles folder, by the way:

9. For every career a file that defines plane classes for this career can be created. File name is ClassesNnX.dat, where NnX is career ID, like DeS for Geman Stuka. It is a text file that overrides default plane classes for this career, the format is:

PLANE ROLE,
for example:

FW_190A4 FIGHTER
FW_190A5 FIGHTER

the following roles are supported:

FIGHTER = escort, intercept, recon missions
LIGHT = same as fighter, "soft" ground targets like trains can be attacked.
TANK = soft targets + tanks, not antiship or anti bridge.
JABO = scramble, recon and all ground attack missions
ALL = all missions, fighter and ground attack
GROUND = only ground targets, suitable for bombers or IL2s

So, all you have to do is go into to wordpad,
type "FW_190A4 FIGHTER" without the quotes.
Then rename the file, "ClassesDeN.dat", then put
the file in your DGEN folder. From then on, flying
in your German "north" fighter campaign, all
Fw-190A4s will fly as pure fighters. If you want the same type behavior in the German "center" campaign, you'd have to remane it ClassesDeC.dat instead. You can do it for all German, Russian or Finnish campaigns. Please make your ".Dat" files openable by wordpad or notepad first. I'd associate ".db" files with wordpad or notepad too, by the way. You'll never know when you might wan to modify one of them too.

Most files to do with campaigns are in the DGEN folder but very specific files are under the missions folder and then under the specific nationality folder ( I.E., RU or DE )
and then in folders for each career you have. Something like:
Dgen_f_Kuban43Doe0

So the paths are usually C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Missions\Campaigns\RU\Dgen_f_KubanDoe0

Or C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\DGen

The Classes.dat file I was talking about do not exist by default in this game, you have to make them and stick them into the DGen folder.
