Hi. I'm new to the world of IL-2 & PF, only just got the game last week. Love it, but hate campaign missions.
Having just started a campaign, I find I keep having to do recon missions. Boring.
It takes 30 mins on 8x to get to the target and back and I don't have to do anything except sit and watch the autopilot or go and fix a drink!

Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

I'm sorry as I fear this has been posted before but found nothing when I searched.

Many thanks.

Chris.

You can always use the time skip feature.

I originally felt that the missions were too long as well, but then I quit using the autopilot and started to work on getting the aircraft trimmed right and using the gauges to navigate and it has helped me enjoy the flights a lot more. I'll still speed up to 8X if it's a long flight back home, but I won't use the autopilot any more.

Only can say that the time skip feature seems to be even slower than 8x...is annoying to dont see a thing and when u come back u havent moved...

Go fix a real big drink, maybe make it a strong one too.

But, are you employed? Really, who has that kind of free time?

How long are these missions that you're going on?

Well, I just fired up a USAAF campaign flying P-40s in New Guinea. The last mission that I fired up had me escorting bombers. 400km to the target, and 400km back!!!!

Now, I don't mind long missions that much, but that is excessive!!! That's a two and a half hour mission at least!!!

That's rediculous. In that case, I'd kick on the autopilot and time compression and go outside for a while.

There's an entry you can make in the config file to shorten up missions when possible. I don't know what they are, but somebody around here does.

Pearl Harbor is a 75 minute flight in a Val, and that's just to the Hawaiian coast.
