In IL2, is it right that the unit of measure for targets as seen through the gunsight is in kilometres?

So 2.5 means 2.5 km, and 0.3 is 300 m ?

I ask because at 0.1, the plane target seems much closer than it would seem in the real world distance of 100 m.
