Does anyone notice this problem in some of the quickgame maps against some opponent planes?!

We did a co-opp last night in mountains and about 60% of the AI crashed into the mountains.

This happens in single player/offline missions too. The aircraft landing patterns are apparently hard-coded, so that's one part of the problem for certain airfields located next to high ground, but crashing while just flying around in the mountains and hills seems to be a problem related to the last patch, but hopefully 4.02 will fix it.

In 3.04 there was some airfield with few static aircrafts on it (Gulf Of Finland map).
To my frustration every second friendly AI or so crashed into that aircrafts while landing. And that have repeated untill I changed my airfield (campaign).

I was really frustrated, I think that I was reported that one as a bug in ORR. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

funny, i haven't seen this bug in a while...in 3.04 AI would always banzai charge at the nearest mountain top...granted i only have PF stand alone and the most mountainous map is New Gunae (spelling error i'm sure)

I should have explain better, sorry. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Apparently they landed with no problems, whatsoever, and while taxiing to their place they ran onto static aircrafts parked in front of hangar. I saw it only on that one airfield (OK I saw it on some others but occasionally). But on this airfield it was constant crashing lol. From mission to mission, so I hurried to land first to save the poor AI squadmates. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Really annoying.

Mission designers have to be conscious of the landing patterns and test to ensure that landings occur normally.

One of the last missions had several Betty bombers crashing into the side of a mountain on the Kyushu map on landing. I reversed the direction to land and now they circle over the water instead...problem solved.

Obviously not something you can do for a DGEN/DCG campaign...but if you're a designer you can.

Can be done for DGen, the static plane placements are all based on templates. Either there wasn't enough testing of the templates or the landing scripts for AI changed after the templates were completed & tested. I know that there were some scripting changes in some of the patches so I'd suspect the latter.

Kuna, same deal, AI landing and taxiing is scripted, there is no collision detection. It's not an AI bug, it's a lack of testing either after mission/template design or after scripting changes.
