Yes, you'll find the recorded flights (tracks) in the 'records' folder of your PF or FB installation. They are separate files with .trk or .ntrk extension.

trk files will only work with the version install they were recorded on, if you are looking to keep them longterm, save them as ntrk, this works for all versions. I dont know about others but i also find that trk files sometimes go fubar, never had that problem with ntrk.

About the fubarness,

Tracks play back fine if the the action took place in QMB but fubar in FMB, at least in my experience.

fubarness, i like that word http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif, alas i've had it happen on qmb flights as well, bloody irritating when you've just had a good fight http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

But he'll need the game in order to watch them. If you're talking about turning them into video you'll need something like FRAPS or another video capture program.

Yes, last night I found all my old pre-404m trks wouldn't play. Oh well, not to worry.
Also agree that trks can go wrong, like my plane firing at nothing, planes going off in a different direction etc. If only I was careful enough to start an ntrk recording before flying!
