I am just starting to game with Vista Ultimata. Can I ask if the background apps and processes automatically are disable when you start a game or do you have to manually disable apps and processes to optimize gameplay before starting the game.

Thanks

Here is a good thread to start in: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/1921070116

Most of this applies to both 32bit and 64bit. As to your question, a little bit of both, vista does free up the ram it was using to prefetch but does not neccessarily end services and other proccesses. Check out the thread linked above and alo check out www.blackviper.com (http://www.blackviper.com) .

Do be cautious with and advise from Urufu_Shinjiro.
He has a nasty habit of setting people up for a
kick in the nuts and is generally mean spirited.
He has also been exposed using multiple alaises
to harass others in this forum.

Disagree with Urufu_Shinjiro and his aliases appear. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

All have degrees and or are I.T. professionals. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But the information in that link appears to be safe and
may help apply a "band aid" to the horrible operating system, "Vista".

Better solution is to nuke it and install XP.
Where you are running the Ultimate version of Vista
Microsoft is allowing all users of Vista Business and Ultimate
to upgrade back to XP free of charge. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

That's a fact, not a rumor.

Have a happy day.

Actually I run a dual boot system and would like to experiment a bit with Vista Gaming. Vista can be a PIA but it hardly crashes on me and has some nice stuff.

I do most of my gamming in XP and has spent countless hours disabling and enabling services. I thought for once we had a OS that would free 100% of everything not needed in a game.

XP DX9 is just as good as Vista DX10 for those who can not max out games like Crysis. DX10 is only good if you can max a game out.

He deserves more BC. He has been harassing Urufu through PM's. Urufu has been sharing them with me, but I have not been well lately and at my computer hardly at all. If you hadn't of already taken care of it I was going to give him a month.

To everyone else reading this thread. Urufu_Shinjiro is one of the most competent m8s we have that takes his time to volunteer advice & instruction. Disregard any statement made by Sergio. He has had a hard on for Urufu for quite a while. Why? Beats me. I have read nearly every post Urufu has made in the Community Help forum and have never found his advice lacking in any way, shape or form. He is as smart as they come and we have several more here just like him as I am sure you already know if ever you have had to ask for help or advice.

Thanks for your patience Urufu. My apologies for not looking into it last week. As I have mentioned I am not well at the moment and I haven't hardly been able to sit long enough to type anything. BC has it handled. If he releases him in two weeks and this shiite continues I will ask for a permanent ban. No member here should ever be harassed in the way Sergio has been treating you. And I must say you handled yourself admirably in the face of such bantha fodder. I thank you for that m8.

Bearcat99 please cheak your PM's.
You will see clearly that Urufu_Shinjiro is a well practiced message board problem child.

-HH-Quazi your incompitent as a moderator.

You guys need to play Smackdown vs RAW online to settle your differences.

Urufu = Umanga
Sergio = Carlito

Great now back to VISTA.

Is there any program that can temporarily disable services and re-enable them in Vista?
