I'm from The Netherlands as well, and there is nothing wrong with the term Free Runners (which is obviously not a Dutch word, but an English word).

Traceurs sounds like it's French, and since most of us speak English, Free Runners is prefered over Traceurs.
Also, it sounds like 'Traceur' is derived from 'to trace', so I'd argue it's more or less another word for 'detective'.

EDIT: On-Topic: If they mean a short movie consisting of released footage, I would be very interested. If they however mean a 'real-life' short movie, I'd be far less interested.

EDIT2: "ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal U.S. residents," Oh goddammit.

It's an actual short film with real people and environments and whatnot.
They did the same thing with the first game.

Traceur: someone who does Parkour (also a French word).
Free-runner: someone who does freerunning (not Parkour).

Parkour is the l'art du déplacement, the actual art of movement that Ezio and Altair perform. Free-running consists of flips & stuff, basically "street gymnastics". Has anyone seen Altair do a flip aside from the LOF? No. Please don't get these two terms confused, that's like calling every MP3 player an iPod.

So, anyone who doesn't plan on making a short film (or of you are you're welcome to help too) want to throw out some ideas for the film? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Keep in mind I'm kind of limited on resources and I'm a girl XD

The theif who was running away from the gaurds, with the arrow in her leg was a girl http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

(The one where Ezio said to her "Hey I remember you...")

well it says to show the tenets and the main one there is assassination, the other two I might be including is the revenge and conspiracy and make something like a trailer, like Ezio seeing his burned house{green screen image} and he vows revenge on the ones responsible after seeing his dead parents or relatives and while he explains it you see little clips showing him uncovering documents and overhearing conspiricies and at the end is above a man on a rafter, then a close up of his mouth as he says "Vengeance is mine" then a cut to black as he drops, would take some work to create the illusions but that's what I'm gonna try and storyboard

Thats actually your bad. he originally called them free runners, then you mistakenly called them traceurs.

From Wikipedia:

The term freerunning was coined during the filming of Jump London, as a way to present parkour to the English-speaking world. Often misunderstood as separate arts, the founders and principal practitioners in Europe do not consider any distinction, and use all names interchangeably for the discipline.
Understand that this art has been created by few soldiers in Vietnam to escape or reach: and this is the spirit I'd like parkour to keep. You have to make the difference between what is useful and what is not in emergency situations. Then you'll know what is parkour and what is not. So if you do acrobatics things on the street with no other goal than showing off, please don't say it's parkour. Acrobatics existed long time ago before parkour.
—David Belle or PAWA team, or both, [12]
When questions are raised between the differences of parkour and freerunning, the Yamakasi group deny the differences and say: "parkour, l'art du deplacement, freerunning, the art of movement... they are all the same thing. They are all movement and they all came from the same place, the same nine guys originally. The only thing that differs is each individual's way of moving". Thus leading to what they view as separation of parkour community or wasting energy debating the differences when one should follow his/her own way and find why practice.[47]

Tried, but for some reason that gave me an error in Google Chrome.
Usually I can edit, it just refused to at that moment. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
