hi, i was reading old topic and found one saying Oleg does not aprove this programe. However this was realy old programe. Is 4.07v. any good?

My other question refers to Bf109-6/AS. My favourite manuever against spit is slow climb, while turinig left. At the top of this spiral i fly almost at stall speed. But now i compared "max roc". I always thought bf has better climb. IL2 compare says, mid war spits outclimb bf109. Is this manuever any good?

It's a fairly usefull tool, but don't take it as a gospel. Anyway, it matches my personal experience perfectly.

On a serious note, keep in mind that IL2 compare "ROC at constant TAS" climbing data is at 100% power, not counting additional 10%, let alone the MW50 (which really gives you some serious boost). You should take a look at the "Max Roc by Altitude" chart instead. G6AS outclimbs spitIX easily up to 5k, and matches it onwards.

I still think he doesn't approve of it and the reasons stated included the fact that not all FM calculations were taken into account when displaying data. That said I still find it to be a useful tool to judge relative abilities between planes using the current FM. Its not perfect and if you have a beef with a particular planes attributes you should not use this program to prove a point. But that aside its useful for what it does.

Particularly in my case building missions for online/offline use, I tend to pop in and out of the application to generally understand the performance levels of the aircraft involved and see if its practical. Its often easier to look at a hard graph then judge relative performance by flying it because then you impart your more of you own bias into the flying style. Different pilots exploit different attributes (some pilots are unable to exploit any attributes as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) of planes so I use it to help me with that.

So thats my diatribe on it...take it as you will http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
