Hi..
please forgive me, but i just cant find out how to use my radar...

Can you guys please tell me what to use theese things for?

RADAR:
One Sweep -for what use?
Continuous sweep -whats the difference?
Turn off.. -Why should i do that?
Report contacts -my contacts? or who´s contacts?
Send contact report -???
Send patrol report -???

SONAR:
Normal sweep -for what use?
follow nearest sound contact - what is that supposed to mean?

Estimate range to contact -to collision or to i can get visual, or what?
Precise range to contact -why use estimate range to contact? if you can get precise?

I hope you guys can help me. I really enjoy playing this submarine simulator, and it must be advanced if it is supposed to be a simulator, but i just cant figure it out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
And could you please give me an example when to use the different things? are some of them increasing the risk of being spotted?
Thanks alot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

RADAR

One sweep- the operator will only do one rotation of the radar. He might miss far-away contacts, but it will have a low chance of disclosing your position

Continuous sweep- he will most likely pick up contacts (not guaranteed), but it has an almost 100% chance of bringing planes and destroyers to your position

Turn off- do that always in good weather, since your lookouts can for some reason detect ships before the radar http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Report contacts- once in a looong while you might get a report of a friendly warship or commerce raider. No use

Send contact report- if you want Luftwaffe to come and steal your kills, report a convoy contact near Narvik in the Arctic.

Send patrol report- Lets you see how many torpedoes you have left and how many ships you downed. You will always get a "Keep up the good work" message, unless you didnt sink anything, in which case it is "Be more aggressive"

SONAR

Normal sweep will report contacts all around you

Follow contact is useful if you play at 100% realism and don't want to keep the scope up for long. The operator will call out the bearing the ship is on now

Estimate and precise range only work if you have an active sonar installed. Click precise range and you will get a verry accurate range figure without using the periscope method

Have fun! And welcome aboard!

P.S. Check out the link in my sig! Very useful for new kaleuns
