For these planes:
Fi-156
L-4H

We should make cockpits for these birds, shouldn't be as complex as modeling a bomber or fighter cockpit, and then....

For the rear positions, we could model for the Storch, we'll have the use of the machine gun in back, and in the same position, the guy could have a luger or a Walther P.38 (Pistol, not the plane) to shoot at other Liason planes. All you'd see is an arm and the hand holding the gun..

For the L-4H Grasshopper, we'd have deployable smoke grenades, grenades, bazooka racks on the wings, and also, an arm in the rear seat of the cockpit with the rear windows open, that holds a Colt .45 and shoots at other liason planes, another thing we could do which URUBU suggested is we give the rear seats binoculars, and the gunsight view makes them look into the binoculars. What do you guys think. Would Oleg Support this? We'd treat it like a bomber and use the "c" key to switch positions, and armaments. The smoke grenades could be deployed like a normal bomb, but when they hit the ground, they don't explode, but give off a ton of smoke, which the AI can't see thru, and must wait for it to clear. Gib, can I have ur input? I'd love to get these Ideas modeled. Think of all the stuff we could do! The Pistols would have to have a certain round capacity, and we could model it where after the number or rounds in the magazine has been expended, you have to wait a few seconds to firer again...

What do you think?

I personally like it, but I dont think the pistol idea would go very far =p a .45 has a maximum effective range of like 30m.... after that they start to bounce off from things.... No tech data needed for that little bit of material, I shoot the damn guns.... and the 9mms have bout the same range.... its a funny idea, but I dont think it'll pass go =[

Im all up for laison planes/transport planes. Adds alot more variety to those damn bomber missions, and fun =P

Yea if she wasn't a nazi and she was still alive,

I'd hump her.

the colt 45 idea is a bit arcadish, its not even gonna hit anything, let alone bring it down

altough smoke bombs and other (accurate) loadouts sound good

Actually, the Colt .45 idea isn't that unrealistic. There were occasions when Liason Pilots would clash with each other, many times all they had were pistols. One of the last aerial kills of the European WW2 was between a Storch and a Stinson. The Storch pilot and gunner were firing 9mm Lugers, and the Stinson pilot and passenger were firing Colt .45's

The Stinson ended up shooting the engine of the Storch up pretty badly and putting a few very small holes in the wing. Yeah, it might be a bit arcadish, but it did happen and is real.

that is pretty rare though, it does sound a cool idea, especially online, I think we should get these A/C in FB first before we start worrying about colt 45's

Well that's something I definitely do agree with.

Interesting idea,Boosh! Here's something I posted here a long time ago:

"With only their .45 caliber pistols,Lt.s Francies and Martin in their L-4B Piper Cub shoot down a Fieseler Fi-156 Storch and record THE FINAL AIR-TO-AIR SHOTS BETWEEN AMERICANS AND GERMANS IN WWII.The occupants of the Storch were subsequently captured. Sorta anti-climactic,isn't it? Still cool, nonetheless. To me it's a little ironic that the last German/American air-combat in the biggest war in history ended using early WWI tactics."

Here's a depiction by Burt Mader:
