Hello! Have a quick question about weapon conv, in general. If a target is say .40 away does that mean 400 meters? I usually leave my weapons conv on a bf109 at abou 500 and dont have any real trouble hitting my target, but I always have wondered about the distance! Also how do you start the engine in a I-16 when it stalls out in the air? I have only been able to re-start it once!

Thanks in advanced!
Carcano.

Correct on distance.. but may I humbly suggest you try a shorter convergence setting and see how it works for you? Your machine gun rounds aren't doing much more than tickling your opponent at 500m compared to what they can do at ranges under 200m. This is sort of a cross-post.. but I strongly recommend using 100m convergence for both your machine guns and cannon (or at least your cannon). That will similarly give you (by way of ballistic trajectory) a convergence setting of 400m on your nose cannon for longer-range shots.. while still giving you maximum hitting power in close where you need it (and want it) against fighters.

Yup I will try that tonight! I tried it before settings about 250..and had a heck of a time for some reason. But ill give it another shot, thanks for the info!

I'd also recommend to try 1000 for your convergence, then fire from 200m or less. I've been doing that for years and really like the trajectory.

Also helps for strafing ground targets and head on shooting, should you be of a mindset to engage in high risk moves like that.

100 M looks a hell of a lot closer than 100 m in this game, is that because its not steroscopic vision? I find myself shooting at .20 to .35 mainly because it feels to close at 100m

It's because the Field of View settings are equivalent to different focal lengths than the human eye AND because it's not stereoscopic vision in the game.

I know, its the same focal length of the gnome that rides around in our 190, the same gnome that forgot to bring his phone book to sit on.
