View Full Version : Flaps keep extending by themselves!

Ok, this is weirding me out! The flaps keep extending by themselves, and I have to keep hitting "F" to make them retract. What's going on? Is this due to a setting in the "Difficulty" section?

Using Cougar in Programmed mode, flaps NOT programmed to any button.

If you have your flaps mapped to a rotary or slider, I'd say it's time to re-calibrate your stick. If not, I give in, guv.

WTF have you done lol?

Did you accidentally map the flaps to an axis? I once tried to map the flaps to my mouse wheel, I must have moved the mouse while doing it and it mapped it to the mouse movement axis instead. The result was as you describe, the flaps kept extending. If you have anything under flaps in the HOTAS section, remove it.

I use a rotary on my X45 for aircraft which have fine flap control. It's happened once or twice when I've unplugged my stick.

Hint; if after you do recalibrate you get the same thing, recalibrate again, but DON'T go to maximum and minimum play.

Thanks so much, you guys were right! The flaps were mapped to one of the wheels on the throttle quadrant! Awesome! I was stumped!

I, too, once thought it would be dead clever to map the flaps to my mouse wheel. Eurgh, that was a mess.
