I made these 3 climb tests on the Cuban online map. Climb speed was 280km/h TAS all the way to 6000 meters. I don't know wether real tests were made using IAS, I'd like to know if this was the case. Version used 1945 Dora-9.

Anyways here goes. All times in minutes and seconds.

First off, 25% fuel, full power + MW50 radiator closed

1000m - 0:35
2000m - 1:19
3000m - 2:04
4000m - 2:45
5000m - 3:30
6000m - 4:21

1min - 1570m
2min - 2930m
3min - 4340m
4min - 5580m

Second off 100% fuel, full power + MW50 radiator closed

1000m - 0:37
2000m - 1:25
3000m - 2:11
4000m - 2:57
5000m - 3:45
6000m - 4:40

1min - 1475
2min - 2740
3min - 4100
4min - 5200

Third off 100% fuel, full power + MW50 radiator/auto

1000m - 0:39
2000m - 1:28
3000m - 2:16
4000m - 3:03
5000m - 3:53
6000m - 4:52

1min - 1440
2min - 2650
3min - 3912
4min - 5100

My math is poor, somebody care to calculate m/sec/ft/sec m/min/feet/min? Pretty please. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

You did not compare your results to the data on Bury's site?

According to Bury's site the FB D-9 with MW50 is about 25-30 seconds to fast to 6000 meters.

I have a book called "foke wulf ta 152" by dietmar harmann

the charts are in german and quite confusing to me so bear with me and correct me if I make mistakes.

it looks like the 190D9 with the jumo 213A climbed at 18.5mps initial and it took 12.5 minutes to reach 10km.

anybody know where the charts and graphs from this book can be found in english?

hey thanks MiloMorai, I have seen those charts a long time back, but lost the ulr. I still wish I could see the charts and graphs that I have in english instead of german. they have all sorts of writting and figures using different power settings and the like. I have tried using freetranslations.com, but the translations leave something to be desired.

I would expect more difference between radiator auto and radiator closed. Odd.

Buzz that type of critical observation is ruining this sim and quite possibly all of human existance. Accept and be happy.

How did I ruin anything? Everybody can read the results. I also wasn't the first one to say it climbs to fast in this thread. I think we all know it rolls too fast also.

Don't blame me if it's overmodeled. If we want to keep our heads in the sand. We shouldn't do tests, and post them.

So it's a bit fast, like almost everything with red stars on it isn't?

Umm, hey Robban, did you take the pic for your sig yourself or D/L it?

I noticed thats a Ta-152, not in the game yet but i'm dieing to fly one!

XyZspineZyX

I want the D9 to be accurate and right now it seems to climb too well and roll too fast.

Unfortunately if it's toned down, it will more than likely perform worse than some other supposedly inferior aircrafts, many of which are overmodeled.

It's quite a dilemma. Hey I got it, let's got all the planes right.

Good suggestion Nic, but how many iterations to get the Anton to where it is now? 7 maybe (includes Il-2 and FB) And there still seems to be problems with the '09. Then there is the P-47 > 3 version and still...

Shall I go on?/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Nah got the point.

Well I think the thing is, let's say 1C can modify like 3 planes in a patch, but all planes are overmodeled but three. Should they downgrade three and have all planes but 6 overmodeled, or should they just overmodel the remaining three to have all planes with about correct (year right) relative performance.

Point being it's important to have planes match historical charts and tests performance, but one also has to see the comparative performance of the other planes. It doesn't make sense to have one correct if the rest is not.

Very complicated matter.

Anwyay since 1.0 I'm used to have an underdog and I never flew the new D9 online except for 5 minutes. I rather have it historically correct.

The thing is. Are the Dora, and La7 overmodeled to a point of where they should be to each other.

If so. Nail it right there, and lets fight!
