Many here have expressed having problems taking off in a F4U with ordanance from a static carrier. I have devised a very simple solution to this and no it doesn't involve strapping 2 or 3 carriers together. Near the bottom of my POS webpage I have placed a nettrack of how to takeoff an F4U-1D with HVAR rockets and 50% fuel. This method should work for all models and might also work for the hellcat. Enjoy http://www14.brinkster.com/triggerhappy770/default.htm

Good effort, i wish i could take off and land as good as that on an airbase, let alone a carrier!

I just took off a stationary carrier in the same plane, same ammo load and 50% fuel in 3.03 from the default start position. No turning around. I used a method somebody posted in here (sorry, I don't recall who). Just run the engine up to full power, release chocks but keep the brakes on full. Gently use the stick to lift the tail (watch out for the prop!), then release brakes. I don't know if it really matters, but I don't apply any flaps until I'm 2/3 of the way to the end of the deck.

how about taking off from a deck full of planes where you cant head for the back of the deck?

its not that hard to take of wiht your configurations, taking off with 100% fuel is hard though.

I think ya'll didn't get it, I intended my method to be a joke. Guess it wasn't too funny. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

On a side note, the method does actually work for almost any F4U configuration. So I guess you could actually use it in a DF server but that wasn't what I was aiming for when I made the track.
