View Full Version : I am intrigued by the fascination of the status of IL2 Center

Could someone tell me what's so great over there, that we have to be constantly bombarded with "IL2 Center has been hacked!", IL2 Canter is up and running!", IL2 Center is DEAD!"

Last time I checked IL2 Center doesn't mean crap so please quit with the endless postings about it's status. You want to know who is hacking it well it's probebly the person who posts here the most about when it is hacked. Thats right. I am solving mysteries right here and hoping to make the forum a better place (that means quit with the IL2 Center status posts...nobody cares)

Who are you to be the sole judge of a site's "greatness"? Many people visit that site and like to be informed when something is up. Besides, this post is far more useless than the IL-2 Center posts.

Do we all really care about knowing everyday the status of IL2 Center?

You want trolling? Try dredging up 100 posts about "is it up, is it down, is it hacked", etc.

Nobody cares here's to whoever runs that site getting it worked out but please, we simply don't care about knowing everyday if it is up, down, hacked, dead, in limbo, on first base, rounding second, down again, up again, yada yada yada.

I care. The folks at IL2 Center are decent folk who add to the community and give a damn. And I agree with the previous posting asking just who in the hell are you to say if it matters? Your posting adds nothing to the community except your rather biased opinion. The people at that site contribute while you continue to post drivel and opinions.

Hey, just MY opinions, OK?

I have no respect for you, RBJ. Despite your impressive 3000 posting count.

P.S. I too care about Il-2 Center. Why it should upset you is beyond my reckoning.

How many times am I going to wander into a thread like this? The only thing more tiring than his trolling are the same replies he gets every single time. Just stop posting in his troll threads and everything will be fine.

I care about il2center. Luckily I have ways to communicate with Luthier regardless of the site status. And what people at il2center do does matter, hopefully everybody will see it sooner rather than later. In fact, after last development update, I don't understand how people cannot see it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Only reason I don't have alot more posts is because I don't add my 1 or 2 word useless comments in useless threads like some 3000 and 5000 + "posters". /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Sorry folks, I can't help myself.

Ray-Just because YOU don't need a particular site doesn't mean it's "crap". IL-2 Center and the other IL-2/FB sites have lots of information, mods, missions, tools and information that the community wants and needs.

If IL-2 Center means nothing to you, why even post? Or care?

I for one, appreciate the hard work and effort others have put into this sim and are willing to give back to the community free of charge. They have provided me and many others with a better knowedge and understanding of the game and it's history. This is a great community and one should be glad that in this world there is a place like this. We live in a society where 'Customer Servcie' is an oxymoron. This forum is a breath of fresh air and just what we sim gamers need.

So what if there are a dozen threads asking about IL-2 Center? Don't read them! And, if like me, you get sucked into a thread you don't care about, back out and find another. If that doesn't help, don't come here at all.
------------------------------------------------------------
I know I've only fed the flames and I should know better, but sometimes you just can't help yourself. Especially when somone as opinionated as RBJ comes bursting into the forum with nothing helpful to add and such an acidic attitude towards something that is appreciated by the rest of us.

How far have IL2 centre come with the English Voice Pack? It was on a while back. Any good news?

Again RJB has impressed us with his intellect by using the logical fallacy (converse accident). He has generalized from a few specific instances (ONE in this case) to a universal claim-that IL-2 center is worthless (the particular), and therefore any posts regarding this subject are also worthless.

I'm waiting for more of this genius as the days roll on.

I'll explain this to you so you can understand. Il2center is a place for the creative people of this world (such as Gibbage, Xanty, Aziraphale, Luthier etc) to converse and seek and give support towards completing additions to this program. (That probably explains why you aren't there).

But since you love asking questions and solving problems answer this (preferably honestly): What have you ever contributed to this program? (aside from 3000+ posts of unbelieveable bu****it).

Thanks to the native Wampanoags, the Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620 were quickly introduced to such important New World foods as cranberries and corn. The newcomers returned the favor by planting apples, which flourished and were soon available in many American varieties. This wonderful holiday pie, with its cornmeal crust and mixed-fruit filling, celebrates that early culinary sharing. It's a delicious combination of some of our most traditional American flavors.
Crust
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cut yellow cornmeal
5 tablespoons sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening, room temperature
6 tablespoons (about) buttermilk

Filling
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
3 pounds Pippin apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
1/2 cup dried currants
5 tablespoons all purpose flour

Buttermilk

Rum raisin ice cream

For crust:
Mix first 5 ingredients in processor. Add shortening and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in enough buttermilk by tablespoons to form dough that begins to clump together. Gather dough into ball; divide in half. Flatten each half into disk. Wrap each disk in plastic and chill 45 minutes. ( Can be make 1 day ahead.)

For filling:
Position rack in lowest third of oven and preheat to 375‚?F. Coarsely chop cranberries with sugar and pumpkin pie spice in processor. Transfer mixture to large bowl. Add apples, currants and flour and toss well.

Roll out 1 dough disk between sheets of waxed paper to 13-inch round. Peel off top sheet of paper; invert dough into 9 1/2-inch-diameter deep-dish glass pie dish. Peel off paper. Fold under overhanging dough to form double-thick edge. Crimp edge. Roll out remaining dough disk on lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch-thick round. Using 3-inch-long leaf cookie cutter, cut out leaves. Using knife, mark veins in leaves. Slightly mound filling in pie dish. Arrange leaves around edge of pie and all over top, overlapping decoratively. Brush pastry all over with buttermilk.

Place pie on baking sheet. Bake 45 minutes. Cover pie with foil and continue baking until juices bubble thickly and crust browns, about 35 minutes more. Transfer pie to rack and cool 1 hour. Serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream.

Serves 6.

In the middle of nasty Iraq war news all six of us here in London England had reasons to celebrate personal stuff. This absolutely scrummy recipe with its UK/US history was 'ace'. Only problem: there's a fair amount left over which insists on picked at...for breakfast!

I made this recipe when it first came out. It went over verywell with all my Thanksgiving guests

We call this "Pilgrim Pie." It is definately different from your regular apple pie. People who appreciate hearty, whole grains seem to like the cornmeal crust and the rustic combination of flavors. Try it - dare to please or not please...

I have made this every Thanksgiving since it appeared in Bon Appetit and it is a favorite. The cornmeal crust is unusual and very tasty and everyone always loves the cranberries. I have always used a combination of cranberries and craisens, possibly helping with the sweetness other reviewers commented on.

One of the best pies for the holidays. The cornmeal crust is perfect.

Seriously, of course the people at Il2 center are doing a fantastic job and all, but isn't RBJ just saying that we don't need this forum flooded with daily messages about the center's status? Seems a fair comment to me. And one I happen to agree with.

Where do you think most of the new planes and other objects come from?
They don't make mods over at IL2 Center, they make most of the official stuff that has been added before and will be added in the future in the official patches.

Yet again a post by RayBanJockey who is totally clueless what is actually going on outside his own little world.

This is getting really pathetic.
