I always keep an eye on Newegg.

Last week I saw a special on 1GB of CL 2.5 dual channel PC3200 memory for $80. For that price I couldn't turn it down so I bought some.

Buying computer parts is all about timing and when the market is cheapest.

The time for buying memory is NOW. Manufacturers are getting rid of their surplus right now, so get yourself to a deal site and start buying.

Another one of my favorite places is the Hot Deals section of Anandtech.com forums. People go on there and post about any hot computer deals and I must admit that some of them are amazing buys. There are many deals there about memory so just go check it out for yourself.

Hope that helps you out. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I dont think it is worth the saving buying cheap memory- especially if you try to match it with existing sticks- it could lead to trouble.
Make sure that any memory you plan to buy is listed on the approved list in your motherboard manual or on your motherboard manufacturers website.

I would recommend crucial memory bought from their web site. make sure you get same rating as your existing stick .(pc2700 0r pc 3200 etc ) If you have any doubts about your current memory rating then download sisoft sandra and get info from this.

just my honest opinion - hope it helps

Thanks for the help guys! I did some shopping around and came across a site called tigerdirect.com. They had two different brands of memory I found at a good price. I am however confused on whats compatible with my PC. I have a Dell and what they recommend is pc2700 333mhz unbuffered, non-parity, DDR SDRAM. I found these two, but they say they are only DDR ram. Is that still compatible with my rig? If I understand right they both have 184 pins so I should be OK, right? Here are the links so anyone can comment on the brand quality or whether this is the right type of ram. Also I have to buy 2 because I can only add memory in sticks of 2 not one.

27.99 for each stick here, but they appear the same.
