WWII STUG Not sure how many people saw the post about the T34 pulled out of a peat bog a couple of weekends ago, but here is another story about German tank this time. Pulled out of the mud in the Czeck Republic. Decent amount of pictures with this one too.

Never seen that one before. Amazing to see these things running again. The Bovington Tank Museum has just finished restoring a Tiger I. I want to get the DVD but sadly it's in PAL format only.

If you want to drive a T-34 give these guys a call.

It will be a shame if they "restore" it beyond hosing it off. Amazing find in amazing condition! Awesome piece of history with the markings in such good shape. Osketten to boot no less.

The StuG seems to be painted with temporary winter camouflage. Or is that oxidized light green paint? I agree that it would be a shame if they 'restored' it. Eastern military museums seem to think 'sandblast and paint with modern house paint colors' is standard restoration protocol.

It's certainly camouflaged for winter ops. See those extensions on the tracks? They were called "Eisgreifer" (literally: Ice Grippers) and were meant to lessen ground pressure on snow and more traction on frozen ground.

Wow I can't believe how great the condition is (on the outside at least) of that Stug!
