I think that we all know this. AC is endink before 21.12.2012. so it is natural that final game is out before that date in real world.

The devs said they would like a break. Unless the pubs say they can slow down, they don't slow down.

Here's another really interesting article talking about the future of the franchise. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/...Coming_Next_Year.php (http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/38449/Ubisoft_Confirms_New_Assassins_Creed_Coming_Next_Y ear.php)

This is the most interesting part to me.

"Though Guillemot said pre-orders for the soon-to-launched Assassin's Creed: Revelations are "significantly higher than last year," the company's financial guidance is assuming the new title will see a "double digit decline" in sales compared to last year's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood".

I really think this is good confirmation that after ACIII, they are going to take a much needed break like Alex said. I really hope that he is right.

Do you think there will be a new assassin in AC3? From the wording, it sounds like it will be more about Desmond. I actually hope that they make it all/mostly present day. Maybe that's why they made 3 Ezio games, so that they could do lots of the "traditional" AC (in the animus).

It has been mentioned a couple times by Alex Amancio and Darby McDevitt that ACIII would see "another character". What confuses me is that they are also saying that ACIII start the cycle anew but at the same time they are also saying that ACIII will close out the Desmond cycle. So are they going to go through the next ancestor's life cycle all in one game while also ending Desmond's story? Alex did say that the annual game b.s. will end after that game so that might be the case. I guess we'll have to wait and see how they handle the next ancestor.

So why will this be the last desmond game?

1: desmond dies while saving the world
2: desmond dies while almost saving the world
3: desmond sacrifice himself so someone else saves the world
4: desmond gets a kid and we will play with him/her years after he saves the world
5: desmond gets a kid and we will play with him/her years after he failed to save the world
6: we will play another character all toghether while desmonds lives.

and it is possible the satelite launches and we stil continue playing games since assassins can see throught the illusions.

I thought the final Desmond game in 2012 was gonna be AC3 since it was called a "major installment"...

Honestly, I don't think its related to AC burnout. I think its due to the fact they are launching this month. Uncharted 3, BF3, MW3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3 ect. There are far too many AAA releases this month for it to compete with.

That is a good point actually but I know that not one of those games interests me even half way as much as AC does. But I guess not everyone likes AC as much as I do.

I would love for a 2 year release only because I feel it would be overall better for the game. Perhaps have a few major DLCs.

Let them settle down and really figure out where they want to go and where the SHOULD go.

They've said so that when they make a numbered AC game, it includes a new ancestor and time period....

Well, I'd love to say i'm surprised!(I'm obviously not)

I just really hope they actually spent the last 2 yrs developing this rather than just "having meetings" about it and throwing it together 12mths prior to release.

Sounds good, I hope there are more titles to coma after 2012 though, I think the series would end too soon if it just ended with AC3 or whatever its called in 2012
