I ain`t the SW freak, far from it,but it is quite amazing.

The movie is friggin 30years old and I still had a good time watching it for the 8th time 15minutes ago.

Too bad my 17y old brother doesn`t get it.He`s not even interested http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

The series really teach some good life lessons, including how to get laid http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I haven`t found the notice on hereby forum so I make it myself. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

30 years. Kind of mind-boggling for me. My dad took me to see that movie on opening day, he took me out of preschool early that day so we could hit the first showing. I was 5, and we rode to the cinema on his motorcycle. Hardly anyone was there, and I remember looking at the poster thinking "what's this?" (my dad didn't tell me what we were seeing, he wanted to surprise me).

My dad likes to tell this story, as during the whole movie I sat on his lap with my mouth hanging open. He would try to put a piece of popcorn in my mouth, but it would just fall out. I was totally, completely mesmerized with that movie.

I'm still a fan, though not nearly as much as I was 30 years ago.

know whats sad?

someone who IS IN THIER 30/40S.. and DOES NOT know who darth vader, or what starwars is!!!!

i just played a video tonight to a coworker, about darth vader letting off steam.. (this one here..http://www.compfused.com/directlink/4890/)

AND another where a guy dresses up as vader, uses the voice changer vader mask, and toy light saber....then comes sneaking up on his wife sleeping, and says "tonight is the night you will die, flicking on the saber, and smashing the bed with it http://media.ubi.com/us/forum_images/gf-glomp.gif

HE WAS FLOORED! "YOU CAN buy THOSE TOYS swords!? and they make noise like that? "I SEE this guy on t.v. sometimes....but i dont know anything about the show. "DARCH ...BADER..NADER..OH VADER"
- me "you never heard of the series??..all the movies?"

"oh ! its movies??"
me- yes

"how many star TRACK movies are there?"

me- its not star TREK..its STAR WARS..

"oh...so there is two different star things, a star TRACK, and a war stars show"

me- "star wars" and "star TREK" ..trek , like a journey...

how can you use a computer everyday, have kids, live here in the states..or almost any other part of the world..and not know how to recognise SOMETHING from the S.W. universe? (or even star trek) ....he asked again "so what is "warstar" about???"

he is HUGE religious man. nothing against that, but maybe that has something to do with it how can you NOT even hear about one of the biggest blockbuster series in the world..toys, ads, cerial, cartoons, comics, video games, legos, condoms..ok wait maybe not condoms. music, books, encyclopedias, coloring books, majic transfers, shrinky*****,posters, museums, models,sci-fi conventions. etc.etc.etc.

so i spent ten minutes explaing star wars, and star trek. maybe his faith prevents him from going out...or maybe his wifes faith prevents him.. but i find that very interesting. cant say it isnt possible..but very very odd. knowing the stuff he does about work, and computers an such.

end rant

I saw Star Wars when I was 6, in 1977 at a drive in, the South Shore Twin. It was opening night

The first movie on the bill was "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"

I later found out that I was playing in the same playground at the drive in (remember those?) between the films, with a little boy for whom I was later on in life Best Man

Life's pretty odd

When STAR WARS came out in 1977 I was 16 and only had my driver liences a few weeks and just got my 1963 FORD Falcon running. Took my girlfriend to go see it. She didnt like the movie much.. but she did feel the FORCE that night. Thank god for the big back seat in that Falcon.
