You get assigned a target, find and assassinate them. However someone is hunting you at the same time so you have to be stealthy. That's the basic plot to all the modes. In Alliance and Manhunt you're put into teams instead of being just by yourself.

To eleborate further to the above.

Wanted Game Mode: Basically a Free for All, 9minute Death Match. When you spawn, you gain a "Target" to kill. The Target's picture will be located in the top right corner of your screen. The meter to the left of it is your Stealth Meter, which determines how hidden you are, when making the kill and leads to extra points. The blue arrows below the picture is the number of other people who has that same target as you.

To the top left of your screen, if your current position in the match, along with red arrows below that. Those red arrows signify how many people have YOU as their target. Depending on your position in the match, you can have as many as 4 people on you, trying to kill you.

In the bottom middle, is the Radar. The radar does a few things, first, shows you which direction your target is, indicated by the blue arrow on the OUTSIDE of the radar. Second, the arrow in the middle when it appears, will either say UP or DOWN. This lets you aware of if your target is below a level, or above a level in comparison to you. Third, the radar "shader" as I call it. The smaller the shader or "slice of pie" the farther away your target is, if your radar shades in completely, or you have the entire pie...That means your target is within an arms reach away, and the heartbeat signifies just how close he is, the faster it beats.

Finally, the red arrows that may appear on your screen, and/or around the radar shows a pursuer you have spotted that is chasing you, and from which direction. When that happens, it's time to haul butt and run away from him. While doing so a countdown appears in the Top left corner, telling you to stay hidden, hide, run etc. The longer you stay out of sight from him, the quicker it goes down and he loses the contract.

By losing a contract, he is no longer assigned to kill you and you are then safe from him at least. Other ways of losing a contract or target, is if you or someone else kills the wrong target, normally an AI, or if someone else gets to your target before you do.

Once the contract is lost, or target is killed you will now gain a new one shortly after in the top right again.

Alliance Mode: Same as above, but it's not a total Free For All. Instead you are split up into 2-Man Teams, assigned to kill one of the other teams. Team with the most points, wins.

Manhunt Mode: Somewhat the same as alliance, with teams. But there are only Two teams in this one. The Hunters, and the Targets. In Manhunt, each team is assigned one persona/character type. The Hunters, for the first round are after everyone on the other Target Team. Round 2, the roles swap. Keep in mind, that everyone on the same team, has the same "Persona Skin" as well.

Hopefully that should clear up any further questions you may have about Multiplayer. I didn't tap into the Advanced Modes, since by that time you should be familiar with the MP Overall in general
