I know that the graphics and alot about this game but i have found something a little not so realistic. in one of the trailers, to lazy to see, altair jumps in the air and very dramaticly stabs the man with his hidden blade. Now the guy is about to pull his weapion out and altair jumps in the air with NO guard while this guys sword is seconds from being out (kinda looks like the guys sword is jammed in the sheath). Now the victim would only have to stick his sword in the air to kill altair so i ask you how realilic do you think that is? a master assassin putting himself into that type of vulnerable situation?

Surely you understand this is a VIDEO GAME and not everything has to be realistic. What happened to the good old days when only the parents would comment about being real in a video game??? where is the justice man!!??!!??!! Sorry, I geusse im just overly excited about this game...

anyways I Know where you are coming from with this in the sense that this is a realistic game but seriously, just have fun with the fact that you will be able to kill a guy in those cicumstances in this game!

Yea, also remember that part were he jumps off of that 2 story building on to one of those gaurds. (it's tht part before he disappears in tht group of monks). Yea tht part was definetly not realistic but im not complaining, this game is too cool to be complained about. just buy it and have fun. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

well if EVERYTHING would be realistic it would probably be quite boring... just imagine riding from one city to another would take days not minutes

im not flaming the game the game looks great im just saying that for a game that stresses realisticness they cant have a master assassin making those kind of mistakes, not getting injured from those jumps. even as a novice fencer i know that jumping at an opponite is suicide.

...and this is why we invented car-bombs

BTW... in this times the logical way to win againts spears was to run as many guys into them until one of them could get the spear man

This game IS priding itself on how realistic it is don't say that it doesn't have to be realistic i know where ya'll are coming from no problem right? i don't have a problem with it but saying a game doesn't have to be realistic when this game is priding itself in the fact that it is very realistic is pretty hypocritical

Dude, If everything was realistic there wud be no assassin wrist blade thing. Also your character wud not be looking back into his ancestors ancient memories. To be fair, I understand ware you are coming from but, the realistic physics is what counts http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif

of course you won't die immediately after getting hit in the foot but after you get hit in the foot you're going to be severely hindered which will eventually lead to your death... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Its easy not getting injured from a two story jump, its all about how you land it.

Is it dangerous to jump at an opponent who has no idea who you are and is pacing across a stage talking to a crowd?

I think he's saying that the two story jump and the jump at the king and everything else that people are talking about is just in the video, and not in the game itself.

By the way, it was a 1 story building http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

2 story jumps are doable.
people who do parkour (which jade DID say he was able to do) do it quite often for promo.

of course, they usually roll out the landing to absorb shock better, but landing on a person does break your fall pretty nicely as well.

Altairs goal was not just to make that guy disappear. If that was it, he could just wait in his house and stab him in his sleep. Altairs goal is to make his death a spectacle. He wanted to show all those guys in the crowd not to associate with guys like that, because if you do, Altair will jump on you and stab your neck. Therefore, the more dramatic the assassination, the better. It may not have been a smart move technically, but Altair was already coming down on him before his sword was even close to being drawn, so he was probably relying on the element of surprise to be able to kill him before he could react.

Remember you guys these guys don't care if they die (the assassin's that is) the job was to kill him not kill him and get out safely of course getting out safely is definately a bonus http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

This post is a little old, I know, but I had to correct you there. The wrist blade IS realistic. The assassins would even cut off one of their fingers to make room for the blade. It was part of their initiation process.

Huh? Thats a real thing? Where could I get one???

Ummmm I hope thats a joke. If not: the blade is realistic for the assassins of the 12th century, not for right now. Watch some of the videos for the game. Jade mentions and explains the wrist blade several times.

you guys are getting a little off topic. im saying its not realistic to jump at a suspecting opponite. the victim screamed for his guards help so he was expecting it

I'm sure you could get one but you would have to cut off your finger yourself and and put together the mechanism yourself so GL!
