Folks, I have been playing stock IL2 and need to know of any updates, and how to get to fly Spitfires, P51's and the like? I have heard of "Forgotten Battles and 1946" what is the difference? What do you suggest? Thanks....feel like a moron having to ask. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

1946 is the latest incarnation of IL2, and includes FB+AEP+PE2+46 etc.

This is the version I highly recommend you purchase.

Get the 1946 dvd, that will install everything up to 4.07m, then get the patch 4.08m and you're good to go with the latest and greatest.

I'm sure you've all heard it before "There are no stupid questions, just stupid people" BTW, not calling you stupid.

However there are stupid answers.
I recently asked an otherwise intelligent student of mine to define homeostasis.

Answer: Didn't they come before human beings?

I'm gambling that she isn't into IL2 or that just blew my secret identity.

On topic, if you like IL2 you will dig the whole 46 package, it's not just the 'alternative history' stuff that you also get Western front PTO etc.

You folks are great! Went to e-bay and found some new games there. I did see however some additonal IL2 games. One looked like it happened at the Battle of Britain. Also found some nice pre-assembled model fighters at the local Walmart. Bought them all. All are at 1-32nd scale and that P47 sure was a big plane. Hope that 1946 has p47 in it.

Sorry to OPer for hijack.

My response was.

'Yes Homo stasis or stationary man quickly became extinct due to his inability to avoid predators or find a mate.'

Unfortunatly it went over her head.
