View Full Version : My first online game pissed me off!

I started as 1 boat in 7 on this multiplayer game of SH3. I was pumped to play and started sinking the cargo ships. Part way through the map, when people started running out of torpedos, I surfaced and began to fire the deck gun, which accidently struck the bow of a friendly sub. His name was Amiral_Nexus or something and he exploded with vulgarity and slander "noob this noob that" and he actually said "your really so stupid" - kinda made me laugh at the irony of his statement.

Are alot of SH3 players like this, or just this idiot, cus he made me never want to play SH3 online again - I ran over his sub just to shut him up, was really funny, wish I had screenshots.

And considering these online game are not like FPS's and can take hours to achieve a goal. How would you feel if somebody blew your bow away - put you out of the game.....

"Amiral_Nexus" was probably being "POLITE", cos you can be dam sure that in RL, your friends WILL shoot back at you...

Think about your over-enthusiasm... Are you ready for wolfpack tactics http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif
There is no place for accidents in the Kriegsmarine/Navy...

It's funny, If this was a game where we could play the surface fleet as well, there are some people who are guaranteed to be sunk, and they would whinge about it.

It would be nothing more than them being 'Noobish' as stated above. And it would be purley because of one or both of two reasons :-

1) They've come from FPS games..
2) They have not educated themselves on the UBoat War.

As far as my experience goes (stand to be corrected) Flight Sim and Navy Sim games are years ahead of Ground Hog (army/Pongo) Sims and this is where you get the impatient attitudes from.

Dont criticize me on realism, son. I have been playing combat simulations since Aces of the Deep and understand Uboat tactics but accidents happen to everyone and the childish behavior that Amerial was projecting would've (and did) resulted in others getting fed up. As far as "noobs" are concerned, I'm disappointed to tell you that many SH3 online players dont have the slightest clue of how to play smart. So far I have only met 1 guy (out of 15 or 20) who was willing to discuss tactics in game, much less talk.

And I've heard alot of others complain about the same thing, so if you'd like to show me some good tactics of your own, my name is German_Irish and you can find me ingame. Maybe we can actually make a real game.

Good hunting to you.

Well i've played a bit online and i find it's just like any other online game, it depends who you play with at the time. It can range from very good to very poor.

I would'nt be too happy about being shot at but if it's an accident and i'm made aware of tha fine.
Whatever, i would'nt start swearing.

My last online game had a lovely bloke running it. He managed to get rid of two players before we even started. They asked simple questions and he told them to f&%$ off stupid noob!!
On starting i crashed to desktop, no great loss.

Don't let a few idiots ruin it for you, it can be really good.

D.

I stand to correct you!
To me, that kind of statment is double edged sword as it also implies that Simmers are snobs and think that they are some how 'superior' in their gaming habits or more intelligent - because they choose to spend hours on learing difficult routines (too tediouse for most people) rather than just a bit of instant action and mindless blasting.

FPS and flight sims still fall under the same catagory.... GAMES.

Accidents happen. Would be nice to have DC2 in the near future. Seems lots are still playing their SH2 vs DC1 online. I crave for the human ship element!
