Looks like a nice product. And $16.95 is quite an acceptible price compared to what many FS addons ask.

It's really not that bad, back when I used to fly CFS2, the only decent add-on AC were the pay ones. All the free-for-download AC were rubbish.

It seems very high for me too. It does show dedication within the FS community. Considering the amount of time put into it its probably a fare price if enough people purchase it. Freeware is hit and miss but I have enjoyed many, many models.

No not in my opinion. Besides... looks arent everything. How does it fly? With the usual CFS FMS? CFS2 FS04?? No thanks... and I think it is an ugly pit. I bet that HUD sight is a static sight too.. just painted on. Cant tell much from screenshots to be honest but I wouldnt buy it. Its funny... before IL2 there werent many P-39s or Russian planes in CFS.

$16.95 for one plane seems very pricey to me. For $39.99 we get 30 flyable planes (over 20 of which are not in FB). We also get a bunch of ships and some new ground targets and 16 maps.

Seems obvious to me which is the better dea.

I'm with Bear. It sucks. Visual model doesn't even look like a P-39. And the pit can't hold a candle to the '39 pit in FB.
Pay extra for an airplane? What's that all about?
God, Oleg has spoiled us all. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The 2001 Il-2 P-39 is better than the 2004 FS9/CFS3 P-39? Well, I suppose that the Micro$oft engine is much older at heart.

As for the pricewhiners! Shut up! You are a silly! Shhh shhh shhh. PF is excellent value! As well as aircraft you get a new theatre to play in, and aircraft carriers, and all the new functions like canopies. $40 (or 28) is excellent value! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif duh.

In defence of Fs2004 addons, although they are rather expensive per-flyable, you do get quite a bit more depth per aircraft. Perhaps not in this case but see:

True.

Compared to pressing the "I" key to start a plane in FB, I doubt that even the relatively simple startup routine on my RealAir SF260 would be welcomed. Let alone my modded DC3 with it's manual carb priming, manual fuel tank swithing, etc.

In the end it all depends on what you want to do. Simulate the function of every switch and lever in the cockpit? Get up and go dogfight?

In light of their ultimate goals, both FB and FS perform admirably.

What's wrong with that airliner? Doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it. I haven't heard of it before, but why do you say it lacks depth?

I was using it as an example of a FS2004 addon that is modeled to a level not seen in Il-2/FB/PF.

If you want to fly online in future, you MUST buy PF- so for me and all the others who are not real interessted by the pacific war it IS real expansive. Especially if you allready bought il2>FB>AEP till now... but I think it´s not Olegs fault it´s more UBI`s markteting...
