Most users will look at Il2DCG3.23 for its full support in DCG Missions/Campaigns to new planes added with Il2-PF patch4.03/4.03m.

Some new issues will also be apreciated by DCG users in so far they add control and flexibility over the game....for example an improved routine for Bridge damage/repair managment.

On-line player will apreciate for sure the addition of NGen files support for Third Party Campaigns...Users could now easely play ON-LINE any Third Party Campaign.

Most of the new features introduced with Il2DCG3.23 have been dedicated to the narrow comunity of DCG third party campaign editors.

A great thanks for the "single character flag in columns.dcg fil flag" that greately helps to monitor columns state and movement...It' will grately simplify TPC testing.

The real bulk of additions to DCG codes has been dedicated to the "Soft-coding" of many DCG routines.
At first, that will add depth to the Editors controll over new produced campaigns.
New features like "map soft coding"- that allow to use the same Il2PF maps for unlimited times, anyone with a specific map-axis and a different routes network -, the "optional start date in Grandcampaign.dcg" - that allow to organize Campaign in a Grandcampaign according to the historical timeline -, are just two examples.....
Their impact over future campaigns/Grandcampaigns architecture has not predictable limits.

"map soft coding", for example, allows to "activate", -placing locations over-, only a narrow area of larger maps in a first DCG campaign; ...."activating" in the same way a nearby area of the same map in second one, and so on. Then, all Campaigns could be properly organized in a Grandcampaign.....When users will play the Grandcampaign, they will feel the fluid movement of the front along the map during the entire Grandcampaign, but with the advantage of the concentration of action only on a narrow area, in turn. Altogether with the Action Radius parameter, that will improve the concentration of action on a narrow map area. Also we'll have not need to place object all over the maps greately affecting Il2PF Frame Rate.

"The optional start date in Grandcampaign.dcg" will make historically accurate Grandcampaign possible.
In the past, when a campaign concluded, action switched to the next one in the Grandcampaign, that had to start within 1 week from first campaign conclusion or within the 1st day of the next month.
Now suppose we had created a Navy major engagement Grandcampaign including campaigns dedicated in turn to Battle of Coral Sea -07/05/1942- , Battle of Midway -05/06/1942-, Battle of Marianas -10/06/1944-.....
Supposing any campaign concludes in a week: Battle of Coral Sea will end by mid May 42; Battle of Midway will start a week later, let say 20/05/1942 and will end by late May 42; Battle of Marianas will begin 01/06/1942.....
So Battle of Marianas will be anticipated of two years when compared to the historical date.....
That will affect the WWII timeline and, as regard Battle of Marianas game play, will dramatically change the Order of Battle encoded in campaign template: in fact, most plane types availavble for service at mid 1944 was not available at mid 1942.
Thanks to "The optional start date in Grandcampaign.dcg" feature is now possible to organize in a Grandcampaign any WWII campaign fully respecting historical start and ending dates.

Of course users will have to wait to gain full benefits from recentely introduced DCG feature.
It takes weeks and sometimes months to have TPC editors to complete and test a new GrandCampaign....but I have not doubts that the months to come will open a new happy season in DCG life.

P.S.: My Spanish Civil War DCG Grandcampaign is to be released in the next days.
It will be the first campaign designed to fully employ all new features introduced with Il2DCG 3.23.
