Hi Gibbage,

Look at these pretty big birds:

Yep, a "one hour work" for you: square wings, revised dorsal area and it's done!

With the coming of the Ki-84, it would be perfectly OK to get this big powerful fighter, PW R-2800-73, 2800 PS at 32'500 feet, top speed 467 mph!!!

So, a fast and maniable (with its square wings) Thunderbolt, I'm sure such an aircraft would please many of us.

Cheers,

P.S. If you need them, I've plans of the P-47N.

Making a new set of wings isn't quite that simple unfortunatly. One would still need to do new damage models of them and the revised dorsal area, and the low detail models. Also, the P-47N included a large array of new cockpit instruments, including an autopilot, and supercharger controls, which would require rebuilding large sections of the cockpit (probably the instrument panel and entire engine control panel).

Now, don't get me wrong, it would be no where near the work required for an entirely new aircraft, but it would still require a significant amount of work.

However, this might be a good project for someone whose learning to model to take up.

Ok, I knew it's not really a "one hour" work, but I think nevertheless the amount of work is worth it.

Or, why not a P-47M, the modeling work for this aircraft is perhaps really a "one hour" work /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Btw, Gibbage is the Speedy Gonzalez of modeling, he did the P-38 cockpit in a few days, so I can imagine he could modify the Thud instrument panel in a not so long time /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

C'mon, give the guy a break, he's only human (least i think he is.. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif )

Anyways, The spitfires are more important than some fat ol' Jug.. !
We need more of them first!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Err, I'm awfully sorry to inform you, but he didn't do the P-38 cockpit. Give credit where due. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

So, I'm alone to wish a big fat Thud, but which flies fast and can roll. Nooo, I can't believe that /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

P.S. Sorry for the unknown (at least to me) P-38 modeller /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

In fact, I would be pretty happy with an Australian Mark VIII to fight against the Ki-84, but I simply like the big birds like the Thud!

well i dont know about the mkVIII but i am pretty sure ol' Gib will make a mkIX of some sort, maybe a C made an E , that is after he does the mkV. But in the mean time we can shoot down the Ki-84s in the mkXIV that fievel and Hammerd are making!

Prefer one of these

"Of all my accomplishments I may have achieved during the war, I am proudest of the fact that I never lost a wingman. It was my view that no kill was worth the life of a wingman. . . . Yes, a Corsair would be great too, but the THud is already in the game!

this means "i'm just b!tching around, please ignore me, yours sincerely board"

as for this thunderbolt, do you think THIS flightmodel will be modelled as you want it?
nonetheless, would be a nice addition.

I'm soooooooo looking forward to the Spitfire, what ever model we get.
Shame the Mk. VIII didn't really make it into mass production due to re-orders of the LESS refined Mk. IX. Still, the Mk. IX would be nice and the Russians did have about 1,200 of them, even if they didn't use them to their full potential. I'm also under the impression that the R.A.F.s 155 Sqn was based in Russia. Come on, give us a date for the Spit, please ;-)

I'd love to see the later model "jugs" placed into the game as well, but I must point out that the nick "Thud" is actually for the Republic F-105 Thunderchief and not the P-47.

I know, I know...same Manufacturer, but different era altogether. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I will ask Oleg if he wants it. If so, then I may do it. It wont be in this comming add-on, but maybe a later patch. I cant guarantee anything. FYI, it would take me a lot more then 1 hour. Maybe 5 because I would need to change 60 differant models (5 LOD x 3 DM x 4 SM)

I think there is a great many of us that have an interest in this plane and the "M". Just look at the "What about the P-47M" thread in ORR. Let me sign on to this as well, I would be more excited about this than any other plane in the game. Even if it would take too much to get it in, I suppose you could do just the "M". /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Now that would be awesome! The best would be if Both P51A and A36A could make it. Do you think they share the same cockpit? They are probably very similar aren't they?

Well since the current jug rolls like a pig, I'd imagine that the developement team would end up making the N model top out at 250MPH and roll like the Spruce Goose and blame the modifications to wing and tail for it.
