this is what you get after a Me-410, a Bf-110 and 2 Typhoons get in a foursome http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Gloster F.9/37, experimental twin engined fighter monoplane. One built with Bristol Taurus radials and other with Rolls-Royce Peregrines (in pic).
Edit: Gun angles seem Schr√¬§ge Musik before Germans' Schr√¬§ge Musik...

"tell me about this aircraft"

It has wings.

"and what makes it unique"

It's not a smoking hole in the ground.

Agree with boxmike. It is a Gloster F9/37 with RR Peregrine engines and 5 x 20mm cannon.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Correct... Well you've either got this months 'Aeroplane' or you know your Gloster prototypes... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Unique, in it's the only other aircraft to use the Peregrines other than the Whirlwind And having five, Hispano cannon Unless you know different that is... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

According to The Britsih Fighter by Putnam, it had provision for 6 20mm British Hispano Mk1 Cannon mounted in the fusselage to fire forward.

Also in The British Fighter by Putnam, it returned a maximum speed of 360mph at 15,000ft, the fastest level speed yet attained by a British military plane (July, 1939)

BTW, Schrage Musik guns before the Jerrys?, check out the Westland F.29/27 (First Flight, December 1930) and the Vickers F.29/27 (First Flight, 21 January 1931) armed with an upward fireing 1.5 pound (37mm) Coventry Ordnance Weapon (COW gun).

You can go back further than that. The Foster mount in WWI airplanes. It had a curved rail...you could slide the gun backwards and down. In this position the gun pointed up and could be used to shoot a planes from below.

Too me it lokes like a ME110 and a Beaufighter got in bed together and had some sort of leaking nuclear power source nearby http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

*edit*- a P-40 got in there too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
