So I get the impression that it was Savonarola, not the Spaniard, who hired the Orsi brothers.

1) The brothers never specifically reveal their employer, merely referring to him as 'Maestro'.

2) Ludovico heads towards Romagna, NOT Rome. The only city in that direction is Firenze, Savonarola's territory.

3) When you find Checco, he is simply standing about waiting for someone. Ludovico claims his death is but a distraction, so Checco is presumably not waitting fior his brother. Instead, Savonarola arrives.

3) Historically, Pope Alexander VI and Friar Savonarola were rivals for control of the Catholic faith. If Savonariola were working for the Spaniard, then Rodrigo would be using it to enter the Vault, not rule Florence.

Thoughts, anyone?

1) has some conflicts, it shows in the conspirator video in the database that the orsi were indeed hired by the pope.
