hi all,

I may be off the wall here (again http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif) but there are certain design similarities.

If I'm wrong I won't admit it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Best Regards,

I have often wondered this.

Similar twin boom layout, but the Vampire only has one engine.

There is a reason they chose the twin boom for the Vampire, but I cant remember what it is now.

There were lots of twin boom aircraft designs. Unless someone has a specific quote from a designer I see no reason to assume that it was related.

hi all,

The Black Widow was twin boom but not a day fighter as far as I'm aware.

OR based on the FW-198? ...which apparently never existed? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Not likely...there's a bunch of twin boom designs from the 1930s. It wasn't conventional but it wasn't so unique as to be one plane copying another I don't think.

twin boom was so they could have a short tail pipe to lose less power.
